Yea, you are right, nobody claimed LSU had the best roster in the country this summer. Nobody at all.

I mean I don't remember anyone claiming we had a better front 7. Outside of that and QB (OC?) I don't see much of a difference between bama and LSU

That front 7 is your team, and one of the nastiest units I've seen in all of football. There are an immovable force against the run and make life cake for the secondary

Our front 7 is no slouch, just not the GOAT like bama. Beckwith is a top 5 ILB in CFB, and key is a top 5 OLB. Our DL has plenty of NFLers. Giving up points was never an issue

-LF (healthy) and Guice > Bama RBs
-WR: Hard to tell with our QB/Playcalling, we have the talent on paper
-OL: Bama > LSU but ours is very good
-DB = Push

Yes.

I also remember last year when Derrick Henry and Alabama's entire Dline were going in the first round.

How'd that turn out? Asking for a friend....

Well there you have it, someone said it, so therefore it must be true.

Let me go start a thread saying Flashback: Remember when Bama fans said Hurtz would be a Heisman finalist this year.

Don't remember much of that (especially re: Henry, most everyone seemed to think he'd go in the 3rd), but sure!

It was the general consensus, so yes, it is true.

Most of us thought Hurts would get redshirted, so no, I do not remember.

Midseason I think people thought there was a chance he could get invited if he kept putting up big running and TD numbers.

I don't remember a lot of definitive talk about it, but sure, you are welcome to use that one. Boom!

Even now, that is not a bad prediction. A lot of factors unrelated to the talent on the roster hindered our season. C'est la vie.

So one good combine performance away from possible 1st round slots for 2 of the 3 guys listed in rounds 2-3.

Beckwith's injury must have soured people quick.

Because it was the dominate topic from February until August.

Hurts going to New York was about a 3 week discussion, and at most people were saying he had a good shot to make the trip. Lamar Jackson had basically double the 2nd best players stats in every category by the time Hurts started putting up numbers. Nobody thought Hurts was going to pass him. Nobody.

Since you missed out:

NFL Draft 2016

Alabama 1st round picks:

#18 Ryan Kelly - Center - Ind. Colts

Per AL.COM: Robinson, Reed, Ragland, Henry not in first round

quote:

The buzz was as many as five Alabama players could hear their names called in the first round of Thursday's NFL Draft.

Linebacker Reggie Ragland, defensive end A'Shawn Robinson and defensive tackle Jarran Reed were all expected to be taken in the first round, but were still in the green room at the end of the night.

Alabama running back Derrick Henry, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2015, was also considered a potential first-round draft pick.

All four players will have to wait for the second round to kick off Friday night.

You know, some of your posts aren't bad. You come up with some good statistical stuff. But stuff like this is just sad. I know trolling LSU peeps is fun and all, but this one isn't even original. I think I've seen it 4 or 5 times. Also, before you troll us, sit back for a minute to contemplate whether or not there might be a significant retaliatory response that might find it's way to a reply. Like what you just posted just happened to you guys last year but worse.

Wait, so the people who were claiming Alabama players might get picked in the first round was.........AL.com?

Agreed - this was a C- effort. Just not very good work.

Pretty sure you can still google mock drafts 2016 and see all those names as 1st rounders. Henry not as much as the others, but some.

Your post is referencing a single mock (Walter Camp) that was a way too early pre-season thing. What happened to you guys last year was from mocks right before the draft.

How about wait til the draft and see what actually happens. Wouldnt that answer the question???? Combine may help some players and hurt others. Some of BAMA's players are overrated due to the personnel they play with and their higher level of talent at most positions. That can mask or make up for some of their weaknesses. Teams find these out or it shows when they get to the next level. The opposite is true for lesser talented teams or players. Many of them shine when they get to play with players of equal talent and arent the single focus of an opposing college coordinator. We will see. I wouldnt bet against those guys from LSU. They seem to do fine in the NFL.
