I hope Auburn hires Petrino, he doesn't scare me at all.

It would take Auburn a couple of years under Petrino because don't have a quarterback on scholarship that could run his offense. The defensive talent at Auburn is way better than at Arknansas. Auburn would be national title contenders in year 3 with Petrino.

John, Joker, and Dooley are shoe-ins for the can.

I think Muschamp and Chizik are looking at another season regardless of what happens the rest of the way.

If Dooley loses Saturday he is 100% gone, possibly by the end of the month. He is the only one who could be fired during the season imo.

Why is it that losing to a team that you are supposed to lose to going to cost him his job?

I really hope Kentucky hires him. If this season doesn't prove that when it comes to coaching, Petrino is second to only Saban, then nothing will. At least we wouldn't have to face him every season. Players will play for Auburn no matter who the coach is, so it would really be a homerun hire. They are in the hunt every season with him running the show. I still don't think they would put up with him. Too much pride in that university to give him a chance. However they want to phrase it, I will thank you Auburn for not hiring him.

Because he would have 5 losses by the end of October if he loses to State. Anything worse than 8-4 will not be enough for him.

3-5 and a 4 game losing streak in year 3. Yeah, he would be in big trouble.

most folks in the FB world that are in the know realize he took over a pure enough dumpster fire, kinda like what johnelle inherited. He appears to have a good foundation and I don't think Dave Hart will make a harsh decision after year 3..they would be starting over again and I don't think the UT base needs that..Alabama did this and it took years to recover

Auburn knows they can't fire Chizik because there isn't anyone in line to take the job. You can look it anyway you want but not many high profile coaches would want to leave where they are having success to come fix Chiziks frick up at Auburn.

The thing is they fired a highly successful head coach after one bad year and all they could come up with was Chizik, so things only go down from here if they make the same mistake again.

Frick me. I am actually going to use the word "logical" in relation to a Bama fan. Time to get the rations and head to the underground bunker. The Apocalypse is upon us.

I think that short of completely mailing in the rest of the season, he will be back next year. The stability he can provide, ala Mike Shula, is still needed. After that, wallets are primed and checks are signed. Just have to fill out the amount to get the next guy right.
