quote:Judging by his ratings, he appeals to more Alabama and Auburn fans than they care to admit. Perhaps the lowest common denominator is a bigger chunk of each fan base than acknowledged.
If it was sensible ppl then it's would be different, but the entire premise of the show unfortunately only attracts the lowest common denominator from both fan bases.

I never thought I would say this, but I am glad he is back. The mid-day show has been horrendous. Very hard to listen to
Half the posters here are more knowledgeable than Matt and Scott. They're nice guys I'm sure, but they don't know football.

Roundtable is terrible. All of those guys are a bunch of douchers.

You're confusing the Roundtable and the Opening Drive.

buddy of mine talked to rockstar about them.
said they're having a real hard time trying to fit in. i really don't think they knew what they were in for when they moved to birmingham.

Naw, I like Jay and Al...Tony is a tool though. But Brown, D-way and Lance are fricking tools.

I don't think so either. To be fair, I'm sure they were better in Texas, they had a lot more to discuss, with pro teams and so many schools. In Birmingham, there's only 2 schools you have to talk about, and you have to be knowledgeable about them, so they started out behind the 8 ball by being outsiders to begin with.

Can't stand Tony. Obnoxious. And if anyone ever has constructive criticism, he yells them down until they can't be heard or hang up, then he gloats like he proved some kind of point or something.

Matt and Scott talk more than college football which is why i like them...they bring more national news rather than focusing on the SEC and/or Alabama teams.

The most interesting part of this to me is this new ESPN 100.5 station. It's nice having a second option especially during the opening drive

Will do.
I'm glad to see that Paul will be back. I do enjoy his show.
...in moderate doses.

Can we even imagine the depression and now extreme high the regulars must be feeling right now? These people's entire lives revolve around their minute or two of daily air time. Oh the humanity of the first few days of his return when he goes to the only thing he has: the phone lines. I'm sure it will be quite sickening. I'll pass.

Yeah that reply was pretty good way to start. Doubt it's her though

But you won't pass.
Even if you do, most people won't. That's the problem with this fricking show. People listen and then bitch about how bad it is and how they don't think anyone should listen to it.
Then they call in. Then Finebaum gets overloaded with callers, advertisers flock to him, and he sits atop his Jerry Springer throne with a rich smile on his face.
WJOX is screwing the pooch on this one. The Roundtable is a high quality show that's funny, informative, and enjoyable. They're chopping off an hour to broadcast a person who thrives off of controversy, stirring the pot, and cultivating hate, and now he has a forum to do so across the country.
Wonderful.
