Did she say the British dominated the war, and if not for their American Indian special teams, they would have won?

I think you missed the point of his post...or I did. Definitely one of us.

The point I was making had to do with the War of 1812. Brits are taught that they didn't lose and don't recognize that period in the same manner. Americans are taught that we won. Usually, What one believes many times depends on where they were raised and what they are taught re: history. IMO, the Brits lost.

I thought she was a pretty cool teacher though. She would say, "history is many times 'his-story'".

Finebaum really does know how to stir the pot!

yeah. We defeated the invading army on that occasion.

and it was 1815, the Battle of New Orleans. course, don't expect Bama fans to know that.

The War of 1812 had officially ended by the time the Battle of New Orleans was fought

incorrect. the treaty was proposed and hostilities were supposed to have stopped but neither government had officially accepted the terms nor had the treaty been ratified by either party. if the british would have captured new orleans, they would have controlled much of the commerce of the young nation and the british parliament would have rejected said treaty.

The siege/battle for NO started Dec 12th 1814. To become a member of the Daughters or Sons of the War of 1812 you must have served from 1812 through this time. Also the US govt recognized all soldiers during through the time of the Battle of NO as soldiers who participated in the War of 1812. By ginving them land bounty grants for their service.

BTW if it was not for the soldiers who came down from TN the British would have won that battle. The local residents had no chance.
