Doesn't everyone in the Big 12? It's been hot garbage CU, NU, MU, and A&M left.

This isn't news. Until that GOR has run it's course, nobody is getting out of that conference.

So where do they want to go? And does Oklahoma state come along with them ?

I still don't see how this plays out. The Big 12 is stuck in a weird place where there aren't logical landing spots for many of the teams. Sure, OU could join the SEC, along with one of the other Oklahoma or Texas teams. KU might join the Big Ten, and maybe WVU convinces the ACC to accept them. But all of those options feel like unhappy compromises for all parties, plus that leaves six pissed off schools facing a future in the MWC.
This is fun to talk about every few weeks though.

I don't really want Oklahoma. I respect the fact that they're a blue blood all time program that also has a strong basketball history and is solid in other sports as well but we're probably going to have to take Oklahoma State as well. No thanks
Plus Oklahoma fans much like Texas fans have become kinda arrogant towards the SEC as if they're academics, athletics, and alumni base is somehow a little too good to associate with the SEC. If they think they're too good for the SEC the way Texas does they should have no problem finding conference membership somewhere else.

In all seriousness, Greg Sankey and Jim Delaney are the two most powerful people in the land when it comes to shaping the future of the college football landscape. Why don't they just come together to create some type of rule that would essentially force Notre Dame into a conference for good.... make it to where they ultimately have to join the BIG 10.... but part of this back room deal would be that the BIG 10 would have to take Missouri off of our hands.
That's a win-win for everyone.
BIG 10: They get to 16 teams. They finally land Notre Dame (which is their ultimate expansion goal). And they land Mizzou who is a decent athletic program that covers two huge television markets.
SEC: We get rid of Missouri who just doesn't seem to fit either geographically or culturally. It gives us 3 new slots to get up to 16.
Mizzou: They get to move from the SEC to the BIG 10. THe BIG 10 would be a much better cultural fit for them. Not to mention it's a better geographical fit. They instantly pick up Nebraska and Illinois on their schedule each year, which are both already traditional rivals for them. It just makes way more sense for all parties.
----------
In the future, as cable cord-cutting causes the television industry to adapt, large television markets will become less of an issue. Adding Texas A&M and Mizzou made the most sense for the SEC back in 2012, because at that time it was all about adding television sets that would ultimately mean everyone in those markets would be forced to pay for the SEC Network.
But as television moves towards homes being able to pick their channels al la carte, it will be less about big markets and more about big names with large, engaged, fan bases. The larger the fan following, the better.
So I think while it may not have made sense to expand within the current footprint in the year 2012, it may make major financial sense by the year 2025 and beyond. So the SEC should then add Oklahoma, Florida State, and Clemson to get to 16.

What you have to take into consideration is the impact making a move to the Pac 12 has on EVERY sport, not just football. Texas to the Pac 12 would force women's golf, softball, etc. to compete in Oregon, California, and Washington on a regular basis. Logistically, it is very difficult for the fringe athletic teams to make these trips on a week-to-week basis. Making these trips to different time zones would result in a substantial amount of additional stress on student athletes.

I don't necessarily agree that OU and Texas think their states and schools are "culturally superior" to the whole SEC.
Just Alabama and Mississippi, and that's understandable.

Mizzou isn't going anywhere anything soon. You rednecks may as well accept that.
