That's usually how defensive stats work. Bad teams have poor depth so starters stay on the field longer and bad teams spend more time playing defense than offense typically.

True, ideally you'd like to have a 9-10 man rotation on the Defensive line. We barely have a 6 man rotation.

I remember hearing that our starting defensive tackles are on the field for average of 70+ plays per game, which is crazy. Hopefully we'll fix that next year.

This confirms the East plays other bad teams in the East and in the meantime, they rack up stats.

Really?

Interesting. I would agree except for the sack stat. Right? Unless teams kicking the shite out of the other are trying to throw the ball all over the place....

Easy to do all that in the East. Reminds me of a few years ago when Ole Miss had the best pass defense, statistically. The reason: old ladies in walkers could run on them, so why pass?

Barnett and Maggitt had good games vs. Bama and Ole Miss. Was that easy to do as well?

I would think so, NFL draft pundits have him in the Top 5/10 range

Sorry Vols, it's a team sport. Plus your defense spends most of the game on field.

TOP ranks 55th right at 30 minutes per game which is a 50/50 split. How does that add up to spending "most of the game on the field"?

Need to post "per game" stats since the Gators only played 11 games vs 12.
