You might yawn, but wrestling is a great sport. A lot of fun to watch, and Missouri has an outstanding program. I used to love to watch Ben Askren when he was on the mat.

Mizzou had four All-Americans. One National Champion. All underclassmen. If healthy, Mizzou will be better in 2017.

Team final:
1. Penn St. 123
2. OK St. 97.5
3. Ohio St. 86
4. VA Tech 82
5. Iowa 81
6. #Mizzou 74.5
7. Cornell 67
8. Nebraska 58
T9. Illinois 50.5
T9. Michigan 50.5

Wrestling is my 2nd love in sports, I'm needing Mizzou to champion the SEC to sponsor the sport. The SEC Network should be raising enough cash to field teams in all of the schools.

I'm in no way a legal expert but I imagine if wrestling is added for men's a women's sport will have to be added. Women's lacrosse?

Great match! One of the greatest wrestlers of all time!

Not even close.

Cox is good but he won't even sniff the HoF like Snyder and Gwiadkowski, or the dude from OKST that's on a 3 year champion streak.

This is bullshite. He's a 2 time national champ and he has a great chance to win again next year. If he does that he's one of less than 30 guys to do it in the history of the sport.

He won't sniff the HOF? GTFO here

Anybody familiar with a guy by the name of Jake Varner that wrestled under C. Sanderson? He won the gold medal in 2012 at the Olympics for his weight division. Think he was a 2 time champ at Iowa State when Sanderson was still there his Jr and Sr year

I prefer team titles over individual. With that being said, I wish UGA had a wrestling team.

It's coming on strong here. I'm glad to see it take hold in the bigger schools that have the money to support it.

Smaller schools are getting there too. I may need to put some energy into putting on a tournament to raise funds for the little schools to get mats and equipment. There's a big lack of coaches when you get to the rural areas as most of us never had an opportunity to be involved in the sport. I had to go to Oklahoma and work w/ my cousins over there who went on to wrestle at Lehigh and OKST.

I'm all for anything that gets kids active and helps them set and achieve goals.

Youth wrestling IS taking off big time. Wait until this crop of division 1-3 kids from the NWA clubs reach high school. We are going to have several very good years. The Bentonville, Rogers and Springdale clubs are all amazing. We are on the Fayetteville club, and we are finally getting some traction though we have a ways to go to catch up with the others.

We do have two dedicated, young coaches and made huge strides as a club this last year.

The Springdale Club has 80 wrestlers. That's just nuts.

If any school in AR wants to add the sport the AWA )Arkansas Wrestling Association) led by Greg Hatcher will give the school a free mat. The rest of the cost is minuscule compared to the cost of the mat. Hell they have even helped colleges start up with free mats. Wrestling has though faced real opposition from many football coaches. Which is absolutely fricking nuts if you know anything about the sport it is a great boon to football. Siloam Springs is a great example they have refused to join and claim they never will. When in the 6A-7A West they were the only school not on board.

I figured. And there's nothing wrong with that. Honestly? I was never interested in wrestling until my son came home saying he wanted to start wrestling in Middle School. He went through High school and could have wrestled in college, but wanted to concentrate on grades......and his girlfriend. When it comes to wrestling and girls.....girls are undefeated.

Virginia tech is really coming on. A couple of years ago Virginia tech had a Georgia kid that finished something like 6th in the country. Peter Yates. Good kid. I thought they might be in trouble when Brand left to go back to Iowa.

Yeah. Title IX gets several sports. Wrestling is usually one.

That's completely retarded for Siloam to take that stance.

Wrestling is such a great base for football.

If I ever have kids gymnastics, wrestling, and a combo of martial arts is what they'll be taking to start. Of course t-ball too, 5 yr olds playing t-ball is about the cutest thing in the world.

Mine does wrestling, parkour/gymnastics and mountain biking.
