quote:

"I'll always regret leaving Baton Rouge. We had such a great thing going and the people are the greatest on Earth. If I ever make it to the Hall of Fame, I'd want to be known first and foremost as the coach of the LSU Tigers."

- Nick Saban
You definitely need the word "idiot" tattooed across your forehead.

I've always loved quotes from Steve Spurrier: (some was made while he was at UF and some at South Carolina)

“I know why Peyton came back for his senior year. He wanted to be a three-time star of the Citrus Bowl.”

“He’s from Pluto, and I’m from Mars. Dabo probably thinks there’s only, what, nine planets out there? I think I read where Pluto may not be considered one now.”

“I didn’t know Jadeveon’s car that could go that fast. He doesn’t have a pretty car like those FSU guys used to drive.”

“In Knoxville, they’re still doing cartwheels because they went 7-6 and won a bowl.”

On a fire at the Auburn football dorm that burned 20 books
“The real tragedy was that 15 hadn’t been colored yet.”

Others:
Muschamp asked his wife to stand up: "Gamecock Nation, if you don't think I can recruit, look at her and then look at me."

quote:

There is nothing I would put ahead of that that I’ve EVER seen in any sport. When you’re there, you don’t want to miss anything. You know what I mean, when you are standing on the sidelines, you’re looking into the corners and everybody’s out there at the beginning and you’re feeling like, alright, am I getting it all, am I getting it all.

"I've been saying it for a long time, I will not hire an assistant coach until I've seen his wife. If she looks the part, and she's a D-I recruit, then you got a chance to get hired. That's part of the deal."

-James Franklin

But seriously, one I enjoyed was Vandy announcer Joe Fisher after the VU-UTK game last season -

“Vanderbilt defeats Tennessee 45-34, And while the Volunteers may be the self-proclaimed champions of life, they’re not champions of this state.”

Here are two that stick out about their Auburn experience.

Scott Van Pelt: "Auburn is the Other Woman" LINK

Syracuse writer Bud Poliquin: "I have descended into college football's Grand Canyon. I have stood in its Alps. I have gazed at its ocean sunset. I have attended a game at Jordan-Hare Stafium in Auburn, Ala. And I've been changed forever." LINK

"These sort of games don’t prove very much. All it proves is we’re better than Kentucky.” ~ Old Ball Coach

No Coach Bryant team ever defeated a General Neyland coached team.

What? The thread topic asked for a quote. I gave one I like.

Are you mad about it?
