The huge stars on the Cowboys' jerseys looked good. It matched their "flashy" personality. The gigantic Hogs on Arkansas' jerseys, not so much.

I think Alabama's white on white with the crimson helmets is the most timeless and classic uniform in all of football. It's very clean, and accented with just a enough deep crimson to make an impact. With the evolution of uniforms over the years, it has gotten even better as the white really "pops" and contracts the crimson even better on these newer materials.
If there is one thing I absolutely love about Alabama football, is I can watch a game (sans the year or two with white helmets) from any moment in history, and see the same classic uniforms and traditions for decades back.
It will be nice to know that when I am able to pass down my love of my alma mater to my son, he will experience largely the same sights and sounds I grew accustomed to.
The names and numbers may change, but deep rooted tradition never will.
...on a side note, the pro-combat uniforms that LSU wore against Auburn in 2011 where gold was subbed for the yellow, and inserted white helmets, might be the best uniform update I've ever seen. I'm obviously all for tradition, but that was an unbelievable upgrade.

It may be, very well could be the reason Bear copied Arkansas's design.
