It comes from the fact that it is a fall back for rich kids who were not accepted into better schools which include Stanford, Cal, UCLA and U Dub

It comes from a sign in the UGA student section a few years ago where some UGA kids were holding up signs and one was misspelled "Dwags". My daughter was in the redcoat band and I have fun giving her periodic shite about it. :)

Wait a sec dude. When the tragic accident involving the tractor trailer hauling corndogs happened in shreveport a while back I made a joke on the OT and you would have thought I called everybody's moms whores. The reaction was violent which surprised me because corndogs as a nickname is so stupid and benign.
As for rivals I like U(sic)GA because I know 90% of them do not know what it means.
