Umm, his hire has been widely regarded as a great get, and not just by LSU fans. He is VERY highly regarded, some even referring to him as one of the best OCs in the nation.
And as far as OCs that were available to be hired, he may very well be the best one of the bunch.

Going by his offensive stats I'd say he's middle of the pack but sure....one of the best.

Hey, don't leave out Fournette's last carry of his career. 3rd and goal from the Fla 1 yard line for -1 yard. Gators made that arse quit.

LSU fans are happy LSU lost to Florida because LSU fans want to play Florida in the SECCG before Bama plays Tennessee in the SECCG
Florida/LSU is a greater interdivision rivalry than UT/Bama but we have to prove it by being the first permanent rivalry to play in the SECCG
