Hey Auburn fans who gave me a hard time because I told them Harsin wasn't a good coach and would be a downgrade.

Still not a downgrade. Gus sucks and is in over his head at UCF too

would be interesting to see if the admin put the screws to him to take the jab as a pretext for flushing him

Are we sure he isn't vaccinated? If there's any truth to the rumors that he's unhappy and has his eye on the Washington job that's kind of at odds with him being and remaining unvaccinated.

Could be. He could be worse. In no way do I regret Gus being fired.
But I also have sense enough not to judge a coach on one season. We saw 8 years of Gus and he didn’t have anymore surprises up his sleeve.

Just because his recruiting class sucks and his coaching is sub par doesn’t mean he can’t recruit and that he can’t coach………

Gotta give him a couple years to get his guys in and then develop them ………

Yea wait , y’all screwed!

Not sure what surprises Harsin could have, especially if his recruiting classes stay the way they are. His past two games seem to have changed a lot of people's minds about the guy.

I agree. He could still put it together and be a pretty coach. Or he could not and we move on and get another coach.
But I’m certain Auburn wasn’t winning the West again with Gus and he was getting paid as a coach who should have a few SEC championships

Really?

Auburn's recruiting under Gus:

2017: #9
2018: #12
2019: #11
2020: #7

2021 Shared class: #19

2022: #32(But I'll assuming probably finish around #20).

Now lets do UCF over the same period of time.

2017: #55
2018: #62
2019: #60
2020: #75

2021 Shared Class: #58, higher than most years.

2022: #36. Only 4 spots behind Auburn while being a G5 directional school.

That's right. UCF is only 4 spots behind Auburn in recruiting currently. And that's because Auburn has dropped off considerably since Gus left, while UCF has risen considerably since Gus arrived. I'm not going back and looking, but I'm guessing it's a safe bet UCF is about to pull in their best class ever.

UCF's win% this year has also improved over last years.

UCF is clearly trending upwards under Gus, and Auburn is clearly trending downwards without him.

TL;DR: You're either in denial, or you're an idiot. Take your pick. Your boosters paid a shite ton of money just to hire a worse coach.

It was in the 80s when Gus was fired. You’ve been told that several times

They were undefeated 4 years ago. He lost to Navy. Navy.

You are so ignorant you actually believe this all happens in a vacuum.

Sidewalk logic at its best

Auburn fans are nothing if not over reactionary to everything, but, they are probably right to want Harsin gone.

And I'm sure you are dumb enough to believe this. You probably also believe Gus and his staff had nothing to do with the recruits you signed.

And because you can never trust an Auburn fan, your class was #41 as of Dec19. 3 days before Harsin was hired.

Auburn recruiting snapshot: 2021 class overview ByKeith Niebuhr Dec 19, 2020

quote:

Right now, Auburn has the No. 41 recruiting class from 247Sports with 12 signees and three remaining commits.

15 total at that point. Harsin added 3 more.

And going even further, they include your best commits for the class. The decent chance of a QB - a Gus recruit. Most of what Harsin brought in were transfers. Good luck getting very far in the SEC by taking in a ton of transfers from other schools.

Sure there are plenty of examples of players working out nicely at other schools, but outside the WR you got from Georgia, you took guys from average teams who were 3 stars and couldn't make it.

If it was NCAA football, you basically just had the AI auto fill the rest of your class.

So now the measuring stick for Guys at UCF is what UCF did 4 years ago? How fricking desperate are you for a positive?

Whatever you need to feel better I guess.

Yes, my life is miserable and that is great news for Auburn fans! Because why else would someone on a sport forum talk about sports.

They haven’t given Harsin enough time - he’s obviously a world class coach
