Everybody knows the initial cause of the fall of UT football was the Hobnail Boot, surprised nobody has mentioned it yet. Drastically altered the UGA-UT series and kicked off the Mark Richt era which hindered UT recruiting in GA.
Or maybe it was just David Cutcliffe leaving followed by a healthy dose of shite at OC before and after his return.
Either way, I almost want UT to be good again and Carolina to start being Carolina again. An unfilled Neyland seems morally wrong.

A team with:
A first time starting no-name QB
No proven RBs or WRs to speak of
One of the worst defenses in SEC history returning
An all-around scheme change
Yep, shaking in my boots.
Don't you know that Butch Jones trumps all that? And don't even try to tell them that 2014 will be worse than 2013.

I didn't watch the video. I assume it was all about butt chugging.

We will know in a few months. Not from an article or commits on the recruiting trail.

Remember when Kiffin got all those recruits and everything was going to turn around for the Vols?

Man, I never thought that I would feel sorry for UT, but this is pathetic. A bunch of footage showing the suckage (Sixth Most Disappointing Class!) with nothing thereafter which offers much contrast. Or hope, for that matter.

Fall Hard and the SEC is just more dominant than our hay-day. It will be some time before we actually are truly relevant again

Fulmer was great for the SEC - a winner, shady, and goofy... I miss the donut jokes.

Yep and Sept 14 that Football Program will Fall again!

I like it. One of my fears is that people just stop caring at Alabama's rival programs and the whole damned thing comes crumbling down.
As long as there is passion, hope, and excitement, college football will continue.

@ Tennessee rising. Maybe you'll finish ahead of Mizzou this year.

But on a serious note. This has been covered, but unless they get an excellent coach, Tennessee is one power that's never going to come back. You can't compare them to Bama, Texas or Ohio St. Those schools have natural recruiting grounds in their home state like those schools do. Coming back won't come as easy to Tenn. as it was for them. Most recruits today were in elementary school the last time Tenn was relevent. Tennessee doesn't have the name brand it had 20 years ago and can't rely on instate talent that grew up UT fans to bring them back. It will take a huge name coach to perform a miracle to bring them back, and a former Cincinatti coach isn't going to do that. Unfortunately Tenn. may never come back. Kind of like Pitt was back in the day in CFB, but now is largely ignored and irrelevent.
You, sir, must be a numbnuts. To say that the historically 2nd best team in the SEC, after 5 bad seasons, will NEVER return to prominience is just idiotic. We beat Bama 10 out of 12 times from 95-06, yet look where they are now. Football goes in cycles. We'll be back one day, and probably sooner than most people think.
Granted, i'm not saying were gonna win the East this year, but when you've found yourself in the worst period of football in your entire history, you can't expect huge steps and 5* recruits to come knocking at your door. The first thing we need is stability, Kiffin took that from us when he left, Dooley managed to screw us even further, and now we have a new coach. A lot of us here in east TN like what Jones has done so far, he's instituted accountability for the players on and off the field, brought in a solid recruiting class considering the circumstances of our program, and put us in the best position to suceed that he possibly can SO FAR. (Don't flame me I know we won't really know anything about Coach Jones until he's coached some games). If he can provide the stability which we need, in a few seasons we can finally start taking those steps, pulling in out of state recruits (UT has a HUGE recruiting budget to counter the lack of in-state talent), and getting the hype and confidence we need to begin competing for division titles, SEC titles, and eventually the Natty.

You're pretty pathetic....dude your favorite college team sucks, and will continue to suck for at least 10 years.

That is sad - it really is. I had no idea UT has fallen this far.
Check this video from 2008 to see how far they fell. Note all the crimson shirts sitting in high dollar seats you would expect to be occupied by fat cat Vol donors.
