Expansion that makes Sense
Hell No

Vandy and Tenn Should Switch

Why Have the Alabama schools cannibalize each other

How would you handle SEC champ berths?

Easy - pair up 2 pods & the winners go to the SECCG

Year 1: Pod A/Pod B winner vrs. Pod C/Pod D winner
Year 2: Pod A/Pod C winner vrs. Pod B/Pod D winner
Year 3: Pod A/Pod D winner vrs. Pod B/Pod C winner

SEC Championship becomes a 4 team playoff

Expansion that makes Sense
How About:
Clemson
South Carolina
Georgia Tech
Miami

Florida
Florida St
Georgia
Auburn

Ole Miss
Miss St
Alabama
LSU

Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Louisville

Why split Ala./Aub. but leave the other same-state schools together?

13th upvote ... wish I could give more.

It's the only plausible scenario.

Wait. None of the schools in the "gulf" are near as close to the gulf as lsu.

Va Tech and NC State are neither "The" university of their respective state. Va. Tech may arguably be, but not really. NC State is about third best, tops, in NC.

No thanks.

Per NCAA rules only 2 divisions allowed.

Expansion that really makes sense:

The "maybe next year" division:

NC State
USC
Va Tech
Tennessee

The "Florida vs. Georgia" division:

Florida
Kentucky
Georgia
Georgia Tech

The "really hard" division (good luck to all competitors):

Ole Miss
Mississippi St.
bama
Saints

The "very fair and unbiased" division:

LSU
Auburn
Arkansas
Vanderbilt

...let it soak in

Great idea. Reduce your league revenue by 1/3rd and let the B1G and PAC cherry pick your cast offs.

That's a very southern way of thinking. Cutting your nose off to spite your face. Carry on!

I was the Jackie Robinson downvote

Oh, and we have diluted the conference quite enough...more than enough. No more half arse programs already.

Pair up pods & you have 2 divisions. NO WHERE does it say it has to be the SAME TEAMS in those divisions.

LSU is the only team east of the Mississippi River here. Arkansas + A&M= two forced rivals and Missouri a team LSU has played 2 times in the last 100 years.

Terrible idea is terrible.
