For the first time in a while, there are some serious expectations for Tennessee football. Last week, ESPN’s Jesse Palmer predicted that the Vols would win the SEC East while on Finebaum. He’s not alone in that prediction, among the network’s College Football analysts. Kirk Herbstreit also think this is the year that Tennessee makes it to Atlanta.

That's three times this week he's picked them. He must really believe in the Vol Nayy.

I mean, it not like it's an outlandish pick. They are one of 3 teams with a REALISTIC chance to do it. Florida and SC would be long shots, but who knows?

And still somehow go 9-3 and thus remain irrelevant.

But why are they not picking the national title competing program of Missouri?????

In all seriousness, TN should be getting the hype. They have talent on the roster. It just needs to get developed.

To be fair, winning the East is a step above employee of the month at DairyQueen. Even Mizzou was able to win it twice.

Poor Zou. You're the Rodney Dangerfield of the SEC.

I won't be surprised if anyone outside of UK and Vandy wins the East. I was commenting more on how this is the 3rd thread this in the last week about it.

Last year Herbstreit predicted Florida State, Alabama, UCLA, and Michigan State to make the playoffs. And picked Georgia to win the East.
