It's a great comparison. You seem angry toward LSU, Monticello. What happened to you in Baton Rouge?

I want to see Coker against quality defenses. Not that ACC garbage in a mop up role.

From the videos I've seen, Coker doesn't even appear to be the best QB on Bama's roster right now, let alone best in the Saban era.

That Trey Quinn isn't on this list makes it automatically suspect.

Just me, or would you, as a coach, not want to give another team this super secret awesome player?
Seems like you'd keep him on campus as long as possible so he doesn't get into the hands of another team.

i just dont get the love over Coker. look at his passes at FSU and all you see is WR's lunging trying to catch inaccurate passes and passes that arent anywhere near the WR's. hell, i even seen some passing drills where he was still throwing high in Bama practices. He looks awful so far. Even still, as long as Bama pounds the rock they should be able to win 10 games with anyone back there.

Ok, I'll say it again.
No one with half a brain is hyping Coker to be something special. Those of us here are saying you take a guy with his size, arm talent, and athletic ability and coach him up, and he might possibly turn into something really good. But the idea that Coker is being hyped to the moon is ludicrous.

Well to be fair, there was nothing Jimbo could do. Coker had graduated, he was free to go anywhere.

But that's just it-- he sucked against that ACC garbage

Im confused to both sides. Im confused on the ridiculous hype ESPN is placing on him. All they have to go off is Jimbo Fisher basically having a walking plug. If Coker happens to produce with the talent Alabama has, then Jimbo will get the praise of molding him. Im also confused that everyone on a message board acts like they are fortune tellers and pro scouts. No one knows what this kid is going to do and until he plays 1 frickin game, until then no one can judge him on what he will be. They can't judge him on High School, his practices, his throwing videos, or anything else. You can get a first impression from his in-game FSU highlights, but thats about it. Less than 50 passes and a few big runs is not a good evaluation for good or bad production in the future. After the WVU game and Florida games, most people with football knowledge will be able to rate him in the ball park on where he stands. Until then, the kid has size, speed, and probably the best arm in CFB. Can he do it in a game as a starter against solid competition is the big question mark. And most importantly, is he prepared mentally.
