Towles will have a tough time beating out Barker... who has much more upside potential than Patrick does. It is a good problem for UK to have I guess.

Towles was the reason Barker redshirted. He beat out Barker for the job by quite a bit IIRC. Towles just needs to work on his decision making and get a better OC for playcalling (which it looks like they did this past offseason). He has a ton of potential and last year was only his sophomore year

IIRC he barely beat out Barker who was a true freshman. I think Barker is a much better passer with the skill set to run the spread. Towles has better legs but Barker is much better passing.
