Because you LOL every time someone posts an updated RPI.

It should be mocked whenever the chance is available. It his hilarious the amount of influence this formula has on the NCAA tournament selection committee.

We beat them and dropped two spots.

What sucks, we play another shitty RPI Auburn Tuesday.

The hell? We dropped the second game to them and to be honest I figured we would. Too much emotion and fanfare from Pearl's return the game before. BUT I will say that State has actually looked a lot better since the beginning of the season.

As to Auburn, Hogs should be fine but do you have another team to beat that will boost your RPI?

141. Auburn
165. Mississippi State
169. Missouri.

LSU picked the best ones to lose to.

Man that Auburn loss really fricked LSU since it was at home. Mizzou and Mississippi State are bad losses but road losses don't hurt nearly as bad RPI wise.

Arkansas has a trip to Oxford, Lexington still on horizon and we host aTm and LSU.

In the end, our RPI will be fine. But watching the RPI like I do, it sucks to see your team fall two spots after a 20 point win.

That is the "trick" that had all the Big Ten and Big East teams getting in the tournament for years. it isn't your record, it is not playing teams like Alabama State etc. etc. as a conference.

Hell the Missouri Valle Con. figured it out years ago.

Since the football powers that be basically demanded welfare for the TOP 4, then the basketball should do the same, each conference should get a set number of 5 or 6 teams in.

It is a little ridiculous but kansas played 2 games last week alone that are tougher than any Kentucky has in conference play.

Also, Kansas basically schedules their entire season to manipulate the rpi. It's essentially a strength of schedule metric.

I really like kenpom but I don't like what I see from it this year. It really really likes Oklahoma and I cannot figure that out. Also note that kenpom is predictive, not evaluative
