Let's be honest. These are/were the two biggest names on the offensive staff.

twitterverse

What I'm hearing on Alabama's staff, per sources, following Ryan Grubb's departure.

- OL coach Scott Huff expected to join Seahawks
- Nick Sheridan (TEs) and JaMarcus Shephard (WRs) both likely to stay as co-OCs, which is significant. Sheridan could be playcaller, move to QBs.

I guess the obvious question is why do so many people NOT want to coach or play for Deboer?

It most definitely sucks but you can’t blame either for taking a job in the NFL at a place where they feel comfortable. Best of luck to both of them.

Has nothing to do with Deboer and everything to do with being the first coaching staff to follow the goat. In spite of many saying their expectations are realistic, everyone knows the bammer fanbase will have their pitchforks out at the first sign of adversity.

How do I know this? Look at the logo by my name...we went through the same thing (remember a time when the only thing we won week to week was the meltdown?) and Mack Brown wasnt the goat or even the greatest coach we've ever had. The Charlie Strong years were truly awful and I can't believe some of those coaches are still coaching tbh, but the ones that are never caught on with another blue blood.

There are still coaches and players who want to be at Bama, but not like it used to be. Catching lightning in a bottle is hard to do.

Because Saban was the brand at Alabama, and the yokels are gonna get reaaaaaal testy when they start losing games like they haven’t in 17 years.

The way they deceived the recruits is going to bite them in the arse too. You hate to see it.

I think bama will still get good players & have winning seasons but where they will eventually get hurt / lose games is that they will no longer have the depth, on both sides of the ball. They won a lot of games by simply wearing down teams in the first 3 quarters & then dominating the fourth. And then there is the loss of the Saban mystique, that will be real & impossible to over come long term. I remember bama coming into Tiger Stadium & upon seeing The Bear leaning against the goalpost pre game, a sinking feeling setting in.

I know bama has been intentionally trying to downplay & even phase out the tradition of “ the running of the gumps” as it’s not a really over all good look from a perceptional standpoint.

So?…apparently the new tradition is:
“The Running Away From the Gumps”

Ya they will have some absolutely horrid losses to opponents they have never lost to in next 2-3 years. Also just hilarious to me Bama fans think their football coaching opportunities are more elite than the NFL haha

If the Seahawks are going to Copy/Paste DeBoer’s staff why didn’t they just hire him?
