Keep trying. How many SECDPOYs or NCAA Records did Rosegreen, Landry, Thomas, etc. have?

Davis didn't win it in 2004 (though he was a consensus AA) because it the 2004 SEC DPOY was his teammate David Pollack.
Eric Berry is a great Safety. There have been others in the SEC.
They also played different roles on the team. Thomas Davis was like a 4th LB.
Berry is certainly a great player.
Lets see if he transistions as well to the NFL as some of the others listed.

Berry is playing like a 4th linebacker/roverback this year and excelling. He played like Ed Reed last year and broke INT records. He can do it all. I think he'll translate well because he's #1 on McShay and Kiper boards.

I don't see how this affects his status as probably the best safety in SEC history.
He has played on some subpar teams by UT standards. Does this diminish his excellence as a player? I think not.

The Saints are a most likely a playoff team at the very least this year. Berry is a top 10 pick. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that he goes to the Titans. They need all the secondary help they can get and he's a local product.

Dumb shite. Of course overall its about wins & losses in the grand scheme but THIS THREAD was about the best individual safety. Maybe you should start a thread called "Who was the safety on the best team the last few years" since thats the argument you're actually making.
frick its frustrating trying to have a logical debate with Gumptards.
