Believe it or not, Depalma's has the best steak in town. The Gorgonzola Filet is the best steaks I've ever had. Prepare to wait though. Usually an hour wait on fridays.

I always liked going to DePalmas with my wife back when we were broke college students at Bama because its laid back and inexpensive. Its mainly an Italian place but they have a wide variety of good food and wine.

Rama Jama's is a must. Waysider is a good breakfast spot. Jim 'N Nick's is a good one as well.

I live in Memphis and eat some of the best pork ribs in America on a biweekly basis.. I'm not a BBQ snob but I know shitty arse, fatty, dry ribs when I come across them and Dreamland in TTown served me a really fatty, shitty arse rack of overcooked, dry ribs.
