Pretty sure someone would just get mad and poison the grove/junction.

That's cool, I love thanksgiving football. Hopefully Lsu/A&M will be on thanksgiving day as well, would be a kickass double header.

Purely as a spectator, I'd love to see this happen. Turkey Day Classic for college football.

I'm going to both Thursday games... Thursday night to open the season and Thanksgiving, both huge opportunities for Ole Miss to make statements in the national spotlight.

I'm going to the Vandy game only bc i will be living in Nashville. I don't like weekday games in general but especially on thanksgiving when you have so many family obligations to consider. This really sucks in my opinion

It works out well for me since in a student. No Friday classes in the fall so I'll be in Nashville opening week and instead of going home now for thanksgiving, my parents will just join me in Oxford for the week (out of state student).

Yeah as a student, it's ideal. But outside of that it's quite a letdown

Now if we can just get Ole Miss/LSU moved back to Halloween, where it belongs. At least it's been moved back to October this year.

I can't think of a better excuse to get out of hanging out with the in-laws on Thanksgiving. This is great!

Our view numbers will increase, but we'll never pull in 3 mil views like texas will. It would take a 2010 Iron Bowl situation.

3.6 million for the last Thanksgiving Egg Bowl

Well if you care about your university, you don't. Unless you prefer a few 100k viewers as opposed to a few million.

Link me to how this makes US any more money -- or otherwise helps MSU in any tangible fashion? Guess I missed the memo on the huge recruiting boost from all those Thursday games we've played over the past 5 years...

I pay a portion of a $3k tailgate setup that now only leaves us with TWO Saturday SEC home games. It's bullshite to be stuck playing HALF OUR CONFERENCE HOME GAMES on Thursday. You couldn't script a worse tailgating year -- or a worse schedule overall.

So, I "don't care about my university" because I LOVE this game being on Saturday -- with that Friday being opening day of duck season in MS when practically everyone is off work -- and us having traditional hunting spots for opening day on public lands in both Oxford and Starkville and planning those hunting trips surrounding the game?

Nice, those MSU helmets were badass, wish y'all could go back to those.

Our uniform rights will be back up for bid in the next year or so. We got raped on our current deal with Adidas -- so it should be interesting what we do going forward... I'd love to go back to Nike just to get that logo back...

That number is the average from these past 3 games: Texas/aTm, Texas/aTm, Texas/TCU -- not the Egg Bowl viewership itself on Thanksgiving. They still haven't posted those numbers to my knowledge.

I'm not big on Thursday games, but if we're going to do them we couldn't have picked two better ones. Both are huge stages (with the first game being the Thursday that kicks off the entire 2013 season). Props to the athletic department.

I love how the aggies & hawgs speak for LSU fans & say "everyone wins". Hope you note a serious lack of LSU fans agreeing with you, especially the aggies, who seem hell bent on trying to force one of their traditions on LSU, a charter member of the SEC. I am a diehard fan,my father getting us season tickets in 1961, but Thanksgiving Day is for families to get together. I know the younger crowd looks at this as a chance to get away from family & party like a regular Sat nite game, but hopefully the LSU administration will listen to its fans.

The egg bowl back on Thanksgiving is a one year deal because "moving forward LSU vs A&M will be on Thanksgiving." That came straight from the SEC office when trying to sell our AD to agree to this one year deal.
