Which games early season SEC vs SEC games do you think will make or break a teams season? An early season win can really propel a teams season and vice versa with a bad loss.

Bama has at Vandy, Ole Miss and at TAMU -

Auburn has at Mizzo, MSST, Ole Miss and at L6u. If Au could win at L6u that could be a huge boost, as long as they take care of the first 3

LSU has at MSST, at UF and Au . The MSST game is crucial for LSu, they could be 0-3 in conference after the Au game if they fall at MSST it would be a bad sign for coach Oeaux.

Ark has TAMU at USCe and at Bama. Better win both tamu and at USCe is they want to have winning record this year.

MSST has L6U, at UGa then at Au. State is kind of a dark horse this year, their QB is going to put up stats. Beating LSu is huge for their season.

Ole Miss starts off at Bama, at Auburn and get Vandy at home. That's a tough start, better not lose the Vandy game or the wheels come off and they won't make a bowl game.

TAMU at Ark, USCe and Bama. Tamu usually starts strong but finishes soft.

3-0 vs these teams won't tell us anything about alabama this year.

So you think AU and UF are automatic losses?

Yep, that why I didn't comment on them. It's really not until mid October that it gets a little interesting. I like the way Bama's schedule sets up this year.

No, not at all and that's not what I insinuated will happen. I said if LSU loses to MSST then an 0-3 sec start might happen. At UF is a toss up and if youose to MSST then most would think you lose at UF the next week. Even if that happens I think you beat Au at home.

Bama will beat us but our offense is going to be loaded again this year and playing with nothing to lose going all out. Will be a good test to see where they are early. We are deeper at WR this year believe it or not.

Fitz is an outstanding QB, no doubt. And I know that on any given day an upset is possible. But all these upset predictions of State over LSU are statistically highly unlikely. They have beaten us once in like the last 20 years (Dak in his best year).

Fitz is the kind of QB LSU generally does a great job of containing. Last year we held him to 12/24 120 0 Tds, and rushed 13 carries for 34 yds 0 Tds, 15 yds were on 1 carry (official stats say 13 for 13 yds, but 4 sacks). Heisman dude and Hurts, same kind of QB, were also way below their average days.

There are some games that concern me, but I feel confident about that one. Honestly, the only game in the 1st 5 that is even a little concerning is BYU, but only because we lost a lot, it is our first game, and BYU will have played 1 game already.

How'd Patterson look in the spring? He came along nicely end of last year. Is he going to be as good as y'all hoped?

Our issue is that we always have a slow start to our season but usually end up red hot towards the end of the season. If we could somehow manage to come out swinging from day one we'd do a lot better for ourselves.

Fair enough but all of those past games don't meant much and won't help LSU during the game. My thought, it's on the road, first sec game for the new staff and MSST will be a lot better than people think.

Nope, quit being so sensitive or paranoid. This thread has been pretty much flame free and has had some actual talk. Just because you don't like what I said aboutb L6u doesn't make the whole post a troll. Try the tigerrant if you want Purple and Gold glasses

That early FL game usually* does a good job of crushing our season hopes

*even when we beat Florida it doesn't matter...see last season

I really don't know much about State's D, so I can't say that I have any expectations good or bad for how much we might score. But I just don't see Fitz being able to do enough against Aranda's scheme for it to matter. Two games under our belt should be plenty to get the new guys to gel on defense.
