RGIII's knees might give pause to paying huge money for a running QB.

JFF is a much bigger name and the better college QB but I'm not sure he's going to end up being a NFL QB because of the combination of concerns over his character and off the field stuff. I'd be real interested to hear whether NFL scouts thought highly of his accuracy and arm strength because I can't tell if those are good enough.

Mett would have to make major strides in terms of consistency to be considered at the NFL level but his size and arm strength are probably NFL caliber.

Keep an eye on LSU's Zach Mettenberger's development under former NFL offensive guru Cam Cameron. When Les Miles hired Cameron as the Tigers' offensive coordinator, he significantly improved Mettenberger's chances of becoming a top pick in the 2014 draft.

Ha ha. Anyone that says Mett is drafted before JM is a homer or doesn't know football.

There is no doubt about his arm strength and size. It's common knowledge Mett has one of the strongest arms in CFB.

I don't need to post my résumé. My grandmother can see that in every single mock draft JM is higher than Mett. Period. Every single guy that has recently broken the SEC yardage record has went in to start in the NFL. Get a clue and stop being a homer. As of right now , Mett isn't even a 6th rounder. If he plays great this season, then we can have a debate. Until then , it's not close. DWI.

But yeah a guy that has never thrown for 300 yards is a gonna get drafted higher than the all time single season yardage leader. Good god.

It's probably as good as yours. What's your point? Look at the stats. Look at the accomplishments. We will have to wait for the season to play out before anybody nkows for sure. If Mett improves significantly, then with his size, arm strength etc, he could move up. But, whether you like Manziel or not, (and I don't) he is still the Heisman winner and more likely to have another big year.

Whether you like it or not, Rickdaddy is right.

Exactly. If Mett plays great this year then there is a debate. As of now , there isn't. One guy massively underachieved compared to expectations and one guy broke the single season yardage record. You'd have to be a huge homer to think Mett is a better qb than JM and I can't stand how arrogant JM is. The dude can ball though.

a better conversation would be

Mett vs.Matt Joekel(A&M's backup)

same body type and a good arm.

the rant has gone full fricking retard on this one. Mett, who played 1 good game against an unproven TCU, a qb who played mediocre at best last year, merits the value of being drafted ahead of the reigning Heisman winner and #1 all purpose yards holder in the history of the SEC.

This has been said by LSU fans.

Mett's game would fit the NFL schemes on 90% of the teams better than Manziel's game would. It's not a stretch to think Mett could get drafted earlier.

Yes the frick it is. Good god. Mett has never once thrown for 300 yards in the SEC. But you think he's gonna get drafted high? This isn't some fantasy land where Mett has been some superstar. This is real life where Mett struggled his entire college career except for 3-4 games. Come the frick on.

You seem so sure so lets do a wager. Give me 25-1 odds, my $10 on Mett and your $250 on Johnny and whoever gets drafted first wins the wager.

You down?

No. JM might be in prison before the draft. I'm talking about right now. No NFL scout has Mett over JM. Which is what this thread is about. I've already said that if Mett ha a great season then there is a debate. But right now, there isn't.

ETA: I'm insulted you think I'm dumb enough to take that bet. I win 10$ and you 250$. Yeah eat a dick.
