Bama should get back to playing Notre Dame and Penn State. Auburn should play Georgia Tech, and Arkie and Aggie should restart their Texas rivalries.

Any other good ones Im forgetting?

uh kansas-Mizzou. You know, the one where we burned their town to the ground 150 years ago and then turned it into an athletic rivalry centered around a city (KC) that has the same name on both sides of the state line so as to confuse the everloving hell out of the entire country.

kansas bitched out too though, cuz Big Daddy Longhorn told 'em to.

Bama used to play USC somewhat regularly. I wonder if they would rather have them or Notre Dame? Or take all three including Penn State?

I wouldn't be surprised if James Franklin and Saban try to pick their series back up in a few years. One of the writers actually brought this us the other day on BOL.

There was an awesome moment before we played Penn State @ Alabama when Saban, Bobby Bowden, and Joe Pa were all standing together talking at the 50 before the game.

It is obviously less of an awesome scene then it was then because of the Sandusky stuff, but nonetheless still an awesome moment to see such legendary coaches out there.

I've got a very grainy picture of it somewhere on my phone.

Do Bama fans ever get the creeps thinking about all the games they had with PSU in the 80s and the fact that they were that close to Sandusky?

Not if they were above a certain age.

Bama - GT*
Bama - Southern Miss**

*- Georgia tech and Alabama HATED each other and the Birmingham News/ATL Journal Constitution would take turns at who could write the most hack article about the other town's team. See further: Furman Bisher

**Southern Miss and Bama played almost every single year for decades. SM cancelled after Bama flatly refused to make a return trip to their stadium that was less than half the size of Bryant Denny.

It kind of sucks that lsu doesn't really have any OOC old school rivalries look other programs in the sec have. I would like lsu to set up a deal with okie lite. They have played only once and that was in 1956.

Ole Miss and State used to play Southern Miss pretty regularly. I'm glad we don't any more. State's going to pound their shite this year and it won't be all that eventful.

If State were to lose to Southern they would never hear the end of it.

Aren't we supposed to play Tulane once more in the Dome as part of the cancellation agreement?

Auburn pussied out of their yearly FSU game once FSU became a power in the mid 80s

I've thoroughly enjoyed every Bama-PSU game I've watched, beginning with the 1979 Sugar Bowl. Great tradition, awesome fans. Bama hasn't played ND as much, but I've been to two Bama-ND games (including last year's BCSNCG), and they too have great fans. Bama just played a home-and-home series with PSU in 2010-11, and I would love to see Bama play a home-and-home with ND soon. The one matchup I personally would like to see is a home-and-home with Oregon.

Growing up it seemed like we played Memphis every year. As embarrassing as it is to admit I would say that was a "OOC Rivalry."

We haven't played them for three or four years but that starts back up this year.

Absolutely. I think all the big-time SEC teams should schedule the Notre Dames of the world. LSU versus Wisconsin. Bama versus Penn St or ND, Texas A&M versus Texas, USC versus USC etc. I think you may see schedules get tougher with the playoff format implemented.

Miami vs Florida is more organic than FSU vs Florida.
But you know, the Florida legislature won't let Fl vs FSU not happen every year.
To me we should alternate between Miami and FSU.

As in LSU fan, I think we should definitely continue our rivalry with ummm... shoot I had it... can't think of their name now.... you know that team we have always been big rivals with.... oh thats right nobody. Anybody that says Tulane either is really old or just wants a free win every year.
