If I recall correctly we said it was a mistake for you to hire him and we were mocked laughed at and told how much better of a coach he is than Bobby MFn Petrino and that we made a huge mistake for firing (forcing him to resign). At least the first two years that is what we heard.
Can't say we didn't try to warn you though.

You did it to yourselves.

You had 10 years to watch Nutt. You had three years of us hating him and trying to get rid of him. But you hired him anyway. Mississippians have to learn lessons the hard way.

As fellow conference members, they should of tried to warn you, but they didn't say a single word. In fact, they actually took joy in what happened.

By the time Hootie was hired by Ole Miss, warnings were useless. Hootie already had his agents and disciples like 'wildrebeltime' in place. They were well entrenched behind lines. The propaganda and spin was rampant. Caught in the crossfire, it was a dirty fight but somehow we all survived.
