Doesn't this completely mindfrick Clemson?

They already have tape on Kiffin's offense, and have had plenty of time to study his tendencies. Now they have to scramble and find tape on Sark's playcalling tendencies.

This is an advantage to Bama by delaying Clemson's game plan prep.

I think they just stick with what they were doing. Not enough time to worry about that kind of stuff.

You'd almost think it was Nick's plan all along.

They gonna install a completely new offense in 8 days? Or are they going to change some tendencies and mix up the playcalling a little bit?

With college kids and the time limits already in place, I don't know why folks expect a huge change. It seems obvious that Kiffin wasn't able to handle working two jobs at once (not exclusive to Lane) and Nick can't take a chance on someone's focus being split going into the year's biggest game.

I'd imagine they'll run Bo more if they're having success and get away from the passes on 2nd & long that create 3rd & long situations given Clemson's ability to get after the passer.

I have asked USC fans about Sark and they told me he is similar to Kiffin, but tends to stick with the run when it is working. UW was fast on defense, but clearly they have an issue tackling big backs, that I don't think Clemson has.

There won't be any drastic changes. I just expect them to run more earlier in the game. It's not like Hurts is all of a sudden going to be completing passes 20-yards downfield consistently. Bama's strength on offesne is the running game and having a running QB.

He did have Sark ready to go. Smart was a lame duck d coordinator against Clemson and Watson lit them up. Not his first plan, but clearly had a backup plan for this.

It's not like you can install a completely new offense in a week.

true, but you can upgrade your play calling. Which is what the problem was. Not too mention too many dumb penalties. Lane simply wasn't getting the job done.

The offense is not changing at all. We're going to run the same stuff. Hopefully just better play calling.

Would CNS really change his game plan this close to the championship? Don't think so.

Like the premise of the OP. Doubt it will be that big of a change, tendencies and all.

Lane didn't commit false starts or hold...if you want to blame him for not getting plays in on time, I'll listen. But I can't blame the coach for poor execution.

Offensive penalties fall upon the coaching staff and the offensive coordinator answers for this. That is why it is called a "coordinator" it is his job to get the offense operating on the same page as a unit. It was his job to make sure they were coached up to not hold, jump offsides, or "Snap the fricking ball!"

You really got it all figured out don't you? Why aren't you doing something that actually effects the outcome of things like this? You need to hang up the buggy pushing and go into this business.

It'll be the same with more runs but this is catastrophic according to the rant.
