frick yeah we do. we can dominate the other conferences without it, but we like a little insurance.

I respectfully disagree with that statement. Cheating by boosters is hard to control, even if a school was dedicated to stopping it. But there is an element of institutionalized cheating that goes way beyond what boosters do. Things like outright academic fraud or covering up criminal activity or having charges dismissed, or paying off officials, or covering up steroid use, fall into that category, IMO. That's evidence of systemic corruption and it is "cheating more". That's why I said above that Penn State was the worst recent example.

With the growing sums of money in college football, there is more incentive for institutionalized cheating.

The amount of Dodge Chargers on LSU's campus has no correlation to how good of a team we are.
