Chizic and saban beg to differ

Alabama =/= Ole Miss

And Ole Miss doesn't have a Cam Newton or Nick Fairley.

We'll win it before State comes close to even sniffing it.

I updated the OP with how the bet works. Like $150 at the most, I guess.

Same shite, different day. A West championship was a done deal with them the minute ol' Hootie blew a load on their faces. They were "east bound and down" this time in '09.

They are Ole Miss, and they just can't run with the big boyz, son.

EDIT: The bet is one of our long-term bets. The winner of this one gets Main Lobsters on a regression winning scale.

What if you gave him secondary lobsters, instead of main ones?

Ole Miss will win the West before Arkansas, MSU or Auburn do IMO.

They have a chance if LSU, Bama, and A&M end up in the east in the superconference

Pretty nice bet

agreed. LSU is still recruiting well and holding par near the top, Bama is Bama and isn't slowing down, aTm looks poised to be a challenger for the next few years, expect Arky to right that dumpster fire, AU will right their ship.

Hell OM went 3-5 when 2 teams in the division were abnormally bad. Will OM play spoiler? yes. Will they win the SECW? not within 5 years. They would need the next 2 recruiting classes to be better than the one they are getting now to get the depth they would need, imo.

Only if Saban retires and before the 5th year. And even then they'd have to wait for Manziel to go to the NFL. Only once those 2 obstacles are gone do I see Ole Miss having a chance winning the west.

We won't win it but we will come close. Like another poster said, top 3 in the West, or even top 4 now means you are one of the best teams in the country most years. Need to catch some breaks just to be in that group. I like the direction we are headed though...

If we keep recruiting like we have this year, then it's actually possible. Look at what Hugh Freeze did with arguably the most talent depleted team in the SEC.

no. one stellar recruiting class, which isn't even as good as bama, LSU, and A&M's classes anyway, is not going to be enough to win the west. but they should win then mississippi subdivision of the SEC west fairly handily.
