I feel like with Texas being in the SEC they will naturally take on better rivalries. Missouri and Arkansas yap a lot.

1a. OU

Almost as annoying as dildos who try to make the subject about them.

Oklahoma's biggest rivals will always be clinical depression and morbid obesity.

Everything must be about Texas at all times. I’d be surprised if they didn’t show up on B1G boards arguing hockey.

We beat OU in a bowl game the only time we have met in football. We swept them 2-0 in the Omaha finals the only time we have met them in baseball.

It's really hard to call them a rival when they've literally never beaten us at anything.....

That will change this year ole piss. Book it!

Texas says it doesnt matter to them when we beat them which is all the time nowadays. So they will claim a team they beat regularly as a rival.

They keep trying to create a rivalry or something with LSU as well which is odd.

We don’t have rivals. And we certainly would not start with a garbage pail program with try hard posters.

Aggy tried same thing after they bolted from Texas rivalry.

Whichever team wins the most will be hated the most. It doesn't matter who they are.

I think LSU and Texas will develop a bit of a rivalry. Obviously won't come close to OU and A&M, but possibly up there, or ahead of Arkansas. Especially if both continue to be good for the most part.

The Oklahoma rivalry thing in the SEC is actually a good question.

Texas. Obviously.

Texas A&M? In real life it was always the "enemy of my enemy is my friend"... but there is a lot of enmity from Aggies on message boards towards OU and the state of Oklahoma. Not really reciprocated.

Missouri? Mizzou people are just like the Aggies. Message board stuff mostly like Faurot's comment earlier in this thread. Not really that much in real life... but it could heat up.

LSU? People in Oklahoma bitch about LSU fans in New Orleans but if they get treated okay in BR (which we are assured we will be)... I don't think it will be that big a rivalry off the field.

Arkansas could be and should be a rival with Oklahoma.

It has all the elements. Fayetteville is damn near IN Oklahoma and for decades... Tulsa was their go to city until NW Arkansas boomed. Tulsa was the #1 out of state place for Arkansas grads to live until DFW boomed.

Oklahomans look down their noses at Arkies. And Arkansans look down their noses at Okies.

Arkansas' coach is an Okie... and Oklahoma's most famous and notorious coach was an Arkie.

The schools are relatively close together.

Yet the conference didn't schedule the two teams in football..

And they didn't get a home and home in basketball

I agree, I think it will heat up fairly quickly. Both very good athletic programs, border states, huge LSU base in Houston. The ingredients are all there.

Good post...not shopping for a rivalry, because that's sort of lame like an arranged marriage...true rivalries just happen when they happen. I think oklahoma/alabama could potentially turn into an oklahoma/Nebraska type rivalry, built on respect and winning traditions, not so much hate.

I've also always been amazed by the lack of oklahoma/arkansas games being played...I've always sort of pulled for the swine in basketball going back to those teams from the 90s.
