Bianco doesnt get the credit he probably deserves. Ole Miss has been one of the most consistent teams for a decade now. A few bounces the other way here and there and Bianco has 3 Omaha trips. What Bianco does with developing pitchers is truly impressive.
Respect. The guy took over a team that was a hair above .500 for the past decade...and instantly brought them into the "spotlight"...if that's the appropriate word. He's been to postseason 10 out of his 12 years and one of those two years was bullshite not making it.
It was his second season and we had 37 or 38 wins and less than 20 losses.

He deserves credit, but IMO most of his credit should go to having an eye for outstanding assistants.
I know for a fact that out players have more respect for Godwin than they do for Bianco. I've had them tell me so multiple times. Bianco is a good guy and a good coach, but he's basically Junior Soprano, the leader in name only.

If we make it to Omaha this season I would jizz in my pants if Bianco was fired on the spot and Godwin was promoted
1. Wouldn't happen. Would be TERRIBLE press if it did.
2. If Bianco takes THIS team to Omaha, he deserves(well, he still deserves even if we don't make it)at least 3 more years. Maybe we have Godwin set up for coach in waiting. He loves Oxford. I don't see it being crazy for him to wait three more seasons and take over a great program that he is already familiar with.

Of course it wouldn't happen, I'm just saying that I would jizz all up in my pants if it did.

That excuse doesn't work for a coach that's been here as long as he has. Why did people think we would suck this year? Because of Bianco's recruiting and coaching:

Mike has done one of the best coaching jobs in SEC history this year. We were pre-season bad...like reallll bad.

Doesn't matter what we thought...we were wrong.

...he's the head coach. That's one of his main roles...to build the best staff possible. So, it goes to show how good of a coach he really his. The great assistants come and learn from him.
Plus, 99% of college kids are going to prefer a young assistant, with no admin/fan pressure over an elder head coach with all the fan pressure.

I didn't say prefer, I said respect

Ehh, same thing in this situation. We're beating a dead horse. You're blowing Godwin. I'm blowing Bianco. Let's just embrace it and enjoy it.
