No. Mathieu was/is a badass...Your Collins is a glorified role player (I'm not hating on him for leaving La. and all that crap - I'm just stating the facts...he hasn't been a game-changing type player like everyone thought. Same thing with La'el, thought he would be a first-round type of player, but he has been preforming like a future second or third round player, at best.)

Only the biggest Bama homers would take Collins over Mathieu.

ETA: I bet most people would take Mathieu for 2 years over Collins for 4.

They played different positions. I wouldn't want LC at CB and I certainly wouldn't want Mathieu at SS.

So? Any rational person would take Mathieu over Collins on any D.

If you say so.

Would I take Mathieu over our current corners? Yes. Would I take him to replace Collins? No.

Did I say replace? I'm not talking about Mathieu over Collins at safety. I'm saying if you could choose one of them for a D, and D, you would choose a player like Mathieu over a player like Collins.

How does this conversation even get started?

By goofballs who don't know anything about the sport.

That's like saying "Any rational person would take La'el Collins over Deangelo Peterson (insert any random name of any player playing any random position here) on any offense."

And what the hell does this have to do with La'el Collins becoming the 2nd first round draft pick offensive lineman in LSU history?

I wasn't the one that brought it up first. You would have to ask the guy that did.

It really depends on the rest of the D.

If I have Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman at CB, but Nick Perry and Jabriel Washington at S, the choice is clear.

Our Collins is a complete badass.

Unless he has to run someone down, he knows geometry angles like a social ed student...

Que the OU game where he gave up the touchdown.
