Nah. It was 101 here when I headed out. But it's a dry heat...

98? Good news Gators, jorts are still in fashion and your offense is slinging it all over the field.

In 1998, you had one of the best coaches ever to walk UT's sidelines. Now you do not. Coincidence?

Fulmer is the quintessential old school recruiter and manager type coach. Cutcliffe and Chief had a LOT of control over the offense and defense. Cutcliffe as an X's and O's coach (and you idiot Rebels fired him for Orgeron, Nutt, and Freeze), can coach circles around just about anyone he's just never been gung ho about recruiting.

Anyway Tennessee became markedly worse without Cutcliffe though Randy Sanders was very competent. Losing Cutcliffe the second time was what sank Fulmer.

Who has won the SECCG more recently, the Tennessee Vols, or that duo?

It must really suck to be that excited and then realize your coach is terrible.

I'm glad you asked. Dabo Swinney earned an SEC Championship - by coaching under Mike DuBose -more recently than the Tennessee Volunteers have won a championship.

Swinney has since been fired from Alabama, worked in real estate in Birmingham for 3 years, and been hired as a WR coach and eventually head coach at Clemson during that timeframe.

Mike DuBose has not been a college football coach at a power 5 school in any capacity in 17 years.

Current sophomores on the Tennessee Volunteers football team were not alive the last time Tennessee won a football championship.
