Per Capita Income, 2014 unless noted

United States $28,889
Kansas City $26,806
Fayetteville $26,267 (2010)
Missouri $26,126
Columbia $25,928
St Louis, MO $22,921 (2013)
Arkansas $22,595

Fay
US, MO, COMO
kcmo
Stl

Who is poor now?

Apparently they don't teach investigation, research, or data analysis at Mizzou

Must be more of a "regurgitate bullshite talking points instead of finding out the actual facts" school. Actually that rings surprisingly true

Well I can't speak for Kansas City but Porker is either unfamiliar with St Louis County or intentionally being obtuse. The one million residents there have a median income of $60,000 which he can then average with the 300,000 city residents. I'm sure some of the posters from larger cities can explain.

Looks like Arkansas is still poorer, smaller, and more boring. Arkansas scenery is slightly better, but only in the northeast corner.

Can you imagine if we gave you guys the boot heel regions?

Attacking the numbers as doctored even when I posted links to the numbers

I didn't go to Mizzou's special journalism school, but pretty sure that's a bullshite rebuttal

I didn't say you doctored anything. I did say you are unfamiliar with how larger cities have adjourning counties which most don't ignore unless involved in stupid internet arguments.

I just got back from a trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and traveled through a beautiful state and met great people. Last summer we traveled through Tennessee and Georgia to get to South Carolina with both scenery and friendly people in all three states. I love the South.

I will make fun of Ole Miss football though. :-)

And yet they have made the SEC Championship game as much or more than anyone else in the east the last five years; including everyone's favorite to win the superbowl, world cup, masters, olymics and whatever else there is this year, Tennessee.

Despite clearly cherry-picking data, you inadvertently confirm my statement. Arkansas is dirt poor. Using the data you provided, Missouri's per capita income is at 90% of the US average. Arkansas's per capita income is at 78% of the US average. Arkansas is still the 3rd poorest state in the US.

By the way, everyone knows that St. Louis city (which is not part of St. Louis County), with its whopping 300k people, is poor. St. Louis County, with its > 1 million people, has a per capita income well above the national average, at $33,334 (link below).

Wtf... I picked a valuable statistic that is commonly used. And I was the only person to provide any "data" at all

I live in Fayetteville. Our per capita is higher than Missouri's. So I don't give a frick what people in Eudora make

If you making 10% less than the national average is nbd, how come us making 10% less than you is a big deal? It's the same amount!

Don't you guys have a protest or rainbow rally to attend. Geez I was going to take up for you until I start reading the bs how great Missouri is. Give me a break you don't have shite on AR except for a couple decent baseball teams one which is owned by an AR guy right?

The town of Fayetteville is the only good part of the Arkansas, which we all knew

Missouri has three nice cities, 2 of them way bigger than anything in the natural state
