Serious question. Why are LSU fans so excited about this guy? I had heard of him but had to look him up. Looks like he has failed wherever he's been. Well, at least as a HC. I don't say that to flame. He literally is like .333 or so. Is he one of those guys that just isn't HC material but is a solid position coach? Or is he just a miserable coach but such a good recruiter that you sacrifice on the field stuff in order to get the players?

He is an outstanding Dline coach and one of the best recruiters in college football

He might be the current USC HC if his Interim HC win streak didn't end that last game vs UCLA? Solid 6-2.
And you would seriously hold not winning at Old Myth against him? Yes, Cut and Nutt had limited success priot and post, but I also note Ed being but 43 when taking the gig. The Reb QB situation those years mirrored LSU 2014 in quality..or lack there of.
He also recruited well there, just didn't produce Ws.

I don't know him, but I take it he's a solid DLine coach and an even better recruiter???

Thanks guys. Seriously just didn't know who he was. Had heard of him but didn't really know him. Knew he was part of the whole Kiffin debacle out at USC but not much beyond that.
So why hasn't he had a job in a couple of years? Or has he and Wiki just isn't accurate? Was he just waiting for the right position?

He's saying Warren Sapp thinks very highly of him and credits O for his development.He's more than solid at both chief.

We are excited because players absolutely love the guy and he is one of the top recruiters in the land.

He was 10-25 at OM. He won one game of note at USC against Stanford. He did a good job winning the other games, but they were probably games USC should win. Fresno St was probably a good win too in the bowl game. So instead of talking about some ho named lee that likes to frick, tell me what I'm missing as a HC?
