This is twice now he has been on a staff with turmoil and a head coach fired during the season. In both cases he took over the head coaching duties in an attempt to win the job. Does coach O play the other coaches and administration against the head man and sabotage him to fail? He knows if Les made it through the season he doesn't have a prayer to get the head job. Now he has his audition for the job. Same scenario at USC and he nearly won the job if not for a late season loss.

I know LSU fans were tiring of Les well before this season, but did coach O help speed up the departure so he could get his chance?

He wasn't running the offense was he? Defense seemed to be playing to win.

So... No.

Alleva.... that'a different story.

Ambitious men do bizarre things. I wouldn't be surprised.

Alleva wasn't the calling the plays or handicapping hires. He just had a plan in place and took the first chance to execute it.

Yes, he helped speed up the departure at both places by having his defensive lines be one of the strongest units on the field and continuing to keep up top recruiting classes.

Question for you- how frustrating is it to not be able to breath when chewing your food?

the Gump obsession with LSU is amazing. Must be 3 times the LSU posts and Auburn and Tennessee combined.

The problems with Les Miles predated Coach O at LSU

I think the plan was in place the day O was hired by LSU. I think he is a very good choice. He turned USC around around the Kiffin debacle.

Aman....this is a fail....but not a big one. Orgeron was on the staff with Kiffin when USC was winning National Championships and when Kiffin got the job, he called Orgeron. He was also with Kiffin as the director of recruiting at Tennessee. They are good friends

Now his employment at LSU....I don't know if he had the "Les Miles" clause in his contract. But, if what Chavis was saying about LSU trying to get rid of Miles a few years ago, conspiracy theorists have a point. Orgeron was hired in 2014
