Yes, Alabama wins it all and goes undefeated. Now, 2014 will give all the haters plenty of ammunition as we struggle with a new QB and completely new offensive line.

How does a team know it's the best? When opposing fans say shite like, "No, and I don't think they win another championship for 2 or 3 years," like that's a bad thing.

New OL?

Arie, Kelly, and Shep will likely all be back.

I'm more interested in what happens at LB. If Trey leaves, that's big. We've always returned an experienced ILB under Saban.

How's jesse these days? What about damon and dial??? They all doing OK, I hope?? Almost forgot about nico. It's all good with him too??

That's four of the top nine off of the front seven? dial was the first DL sub and mosley was the first LB sub.

bama has some holes to fill on defense, also.

We both return a dozen players that took defensive snaps in our last game.

Should make for an interesting game in early November.

Not good. Seahawks put him on IR.

Not sure, but I'm thinking they both make a roster. Don't know what Dial's even been doing though.

Having a good preseason. Competing for a starting spot in the second best LB corps in the NFL.

What are you going on about? Mosley also played way more snaps than Nico, and I'd say Pagan was the top DL sub. Any inexperience on D comes from the backups on the DL. They're gifted physically and athletically, but it'll be interesting to see how they do.

Ehhh.

Best ILB in the nation. Could make an argument for having the second best NFL wise.

Strong argument for best Safety in the country.

Strong argument for best 34 OLB.

Jack is locked down by a returning starter and a returning rotational player.

3 of top 4 CBs return.

3 of top 4 Safeties return.

I don't see a lot of holes other than next three in up front. I'm really excited.

Indeed.

As usual, will be a battle.

It's a very safe pick to choose them for the Natty. A SEC team will definitely win it again whether it be Alabama, LSU, Georgia, or South Carolina though.

Against LSU it was usually johnson starting and usually playing more than mosely.

If pagan is tide's answer on the DL then I'm not impressed. Watched him and backup NT every play they were in against LSU last year. They each played by my guesstament 35 snaps. Neither had a solo tackle. Neither was even in on initial contact of RB. Neither was able to ever put pressureon Mett. The only thing the NT did was jump on the pile once the RB eas tackled.

With Freak and Ego, LSU will start the best DT combo in the SEC (country).

Loston is right up there with haha.

LSU had seven freshmen (6 Tr) in the rotation in the back seven. See much improvement there?

Tiger "D" will be better in '13 than they were in '12, especially in the back seven. Top five Dlinemen are all top end SEC quality. Only question is who will be the three-four guys that step up for the usual depth LSU always has.

another question. Why didn't those #3 and #4 CBs play defense against LSU last game? Young and saban didn't trust them in such a big game? Really aren't that good? Injured?

It will be very hard the three peat. The biggest enemy of Bama is complacency. I don't think there is a better team in college football, but it doesn't mean they will win the title. I want to say no just because of how hard it will be. Still. Only Bama can actually beat Bama. So we shall see.

If that's their biggest enemy, we're all already fricked.

They won't be complacent.

And what...does that matter? We also played 11 other teams in the regular season.

Really though? Ego had 1 TFL and no QB hurries last year. I know he has the talent though.

I'd certainly put him top 5 in the country. Maybe top three. HaHa > Ed Reynolds > Craig Loston, in my opinion.

I'm sure there will be, but I'm starting to get confused. Is this thread not about Alabama's chances to win the BCS? It feels like you're trying to prove LSU should be in Bama's league, but I don't think anyone denies that LSU should finish with at least ten wins and will give Bama a fight. The people who do are probably not serious.

Most definitely, I agree.

Per the usual.

quote:

Why didn't those #3 and #4 CBs play defense against LSU last game?

Geno Smith was a true Freshman and Saban has some infatuation with Vinnie Sunseri. Similar to the one Miles had with JJ. Fulton was a backup on the outside, so why would he play? The only reason for that would be Dee sliding to Star, which we had done before, but not all that often. Once Vinnie got done in by Zach Mettenberger of all QBs, we switched it up and Saban trusted John Fulton enough to play him outside and move a top ten draft pick to the slot against a top five ten team. John got hurt during the game (had a rather good game mind you, if there is one thing I like about him it's how physical he is. Plays press a lot like Dee did) so we moved Geno to Star and he had a good time there in some big games. So to answer your question, Smith was young, and John was behind two guys on the outside.

THAT said, why do you keep caring about what they did against the 2012 LSU team? What that team did has nothing to do with what the 2013 LSU team should do.

I think LSU may have some success running on us. I'm still not sold on Brandon Ivory to force two blockers on him, but LSU will have a new Center so it'll be interesting. Stinson has added some weight, and so has Pagan.

That said, I'll do what you did. What did Ego do against Alabama?

my thoughts exactly, i have been saying that both ohio st and louisville run the table this year and i really think that bama will drop a game this year, to who, idk.

while i think they probably have the best rounded team i think they'll lose at least one game this year and won't get to play in the game. some sorry arse like ohio state probably gets in.

1 loss SEC is getting in, unless it's two undefeated teams OSU/Oregon/Stanford (those are three best getting in there. I don't see this being an issue with Bama, unless they lose later in the year.

They have the best chance since the polls will give them 2 chances and maybe even a 3rd to win it. Sure would be nice to have a real playoff that if you can't win your division or conference you can't play for the NC. Pure and simple. But the networks want the teams with the most fans playing as much as possible. Money is ruining sports.

Yes, seriously who do they lose to? They essentially have 3 games this year (A&M, LSU, and SECCG). I don’t see complacency setting in for those 3 games.

Then off to play an underwhelming team in the MNC, my money is on Bama

LSU could win the west or Georgia could win the SEC title game. Bama has the best chance, but it's certainly not a lock.

I'll start by saying that Bama has as good as, or a better chance than anyone else. But, the odds are never in your favor to win a NC. It always takes some luck along the way.

And, this year has a 2010 feel to it to me. They certainly have the talent all over the field, but will they play to their potential? I have some nagging doubts for some reason. Maybe it's just pre-season jitters? I don't know.

It's just hard to know how a new team will respond. We may know more in a few days. The schedule certainly sets up nicely.

As much as I hate to say it, yes. Last year was the year for them to lose, but the teams who could have kept them out of it (UGA, Oregon for starters) shite the bed. This team will not lose a game unless Saban figures out how to lose a game in which his opponent is completely outmatched (and he has before, so I'm not giving up hope).

Interesting going back to that 2010 team and seeing the talent everywhere, but not playing at their best at times.

I don't see it being that bad (at worst, I don't see them losing more than 2). Also, if they do lose, it won't be like that Iron Bowl game where Cam was unreal that day and Bama lost in that fashion.
