The remaining three came in 2007 when he had a shitty team.

Someone alert the presses.

when looking at Saban's W/L at Bama, I tend to ignore 07 and look from 08 on.

My mistake.

'07, after the UGA loss went 4-5
'08, after the UF loss went 0-1
'09 was undefeated of course
'10, after the USC loss went 5-2

For a total of 9-8.

Of course if you exclude vacated wins, the record drops to 7-8.

Yeah, they still have that "rematch" idea to keep them motivated.

If there wasn't any chance of a rematch they could have a let-down game or two.

I'm sure that the "process" is pretty tough. As long as you are winning, it's probably not hard to deal with it. But when you lose, I'm sure it gets old pretty quick.

I hate Bama. There's no team I hate losing to more, and there's no team that I enjoy beating more. I hate their sense of entitlement, and their arrogance. The fact that many Bama fans are are doing everything but say they got beat, by a better team, on their home field, is nauseating. I don't think that Nick Saban is as honorable a man as Les Miles.

That said......

This was one game. Granted, it was our best team in a while against their best team in a while, and our team got it done on the road, but it's still just one game. Alabama will not quit, and next year, beating them will be even tougher. Nick Saban is a great football coach, and he pretty much cherry picks great athletes. They will be ready. They won't quit.

I'd rather take a freakin shower w/Jerry Sandusky than have to play them again this year. Because they are that freakin good.

Be thankful for the win, fellas. Beating GREAT Bama teams is rare.

But don't lull yourselves into thinking they won't be back, or that we have somehow permanently supplanted them in the pecking order of the SEC West. They will be back, and with a vengeance.

Saban is 60. He's tried, and failed, in the NFL as head coach with a team that gave him literally everything he asked for. After the sting of this loss leaves Bama, he will still be king of that campus. We have to face him for at least 4/5 more years.

Just be glad that we've got a better coach - one who is up to that challenge.
