you make a convincing arguement Lanier.
Look, I want us to be ranked as much as anyone. Id love for us to be top 5 and talking shite. We are just not there yet.
I feel pretty good about our chances in most of our remaining games. If they offense can play even mediocre, we will have opportunities to win. The defense has been surprisingly stout. I like what we have seen. Our special teams have been out of the world like they have been in recent years.
But we must be able to find the endzone against better teams. The LSU game just sucked. I know we won and I celebrated as much as anyone but 6 field goals and no TD's was terrible. I wont even comment about our offense against Clemson.
Next week is a big game. On the road with a very young team in Starkville. We are better than Miss St. We will see if we play like it

Don't know how much sos factors in anymore, but the LSU win will look better and better as the season rolls on.
We won't run the table, but we will win the games we should at least. That should make that W louder for Aubbie at least.

We have not done anything to deserve it
Agree. Beat MSU and we probably have an argument to sneak in.

We don't deserve it right now but if we go on the road and beat Miss St somewhat comfortably then we should probably move back in there.

Auburn hasn't had a game outside Lee County since last year.

And what has Ole Miss done to deserve it? Beaten Wofford, UGA, and Memphis?

Like I stated, I can not comment on the teams that are there. Ole miss beat the hell out of UGA. We were one second away from losing our only quality win. Plus, Memphis is better than either of the cupcakes we beat.

Yeah, and they also lost to a team that just lost to UNC and a Chizik defense. I would not consider UGA a quality win either, just saying.

I think just outside the top 25. A good showing against State will put us in, IMO.

Reasons Auburn should be in the top 25
1. 2 close losses are to top 10 teams
2. Win vs LSU
3. Beat poor opponents exactly the way you would expect a top 25 team to win
Reasons why Auburn should NOT
1. Only 2 teams in the top 25 with 2 losses, OM and FSU and both have signature wins
2. No real signature wins...LSU win not really that impressive considering LSU's position, red zone woes and close game at home.
Reasons why Auburn will be in the top 25 a week from now
1. Several teams low in the top 25 poised to drop out
2. Win against MSU at home
