If it was structurally possible, I think Alabama could add 10-15,000 to BDS, and still fill it up.

Commonwealth needs upgrades more than anything, but closing in one of the endzone upper decks wouldn't be a bad thing either.

One of the reasons LSU is building high rise parking garages, no doubt. First one opens in 2012, across from the Union.

200k seats so we can impress and bring in more jack linebackers

Well that's really what I wanted to say....If we can have the biggest, I'm in. Just that there's no way to do it without building a whole new stadium. Especially since being the biggest means being bigger than what Texas has on the drawing board.

WTF does Texas find room for a new on campus stadium? That is not a large campus by any means.

i think we should add at least another 12k in seats we could slap a 3rd deck on the south endzone like ufs triple deck they have in their endzone and at the sametime add more suites to the stadium.

also we need to go back to the troughs in bathrooms to avoid having lines

No more seats, but the east and west exteriors could be better if they added some more brick/glass like the north and south ends. The east and west skybox rows need to be updated with glass facades to match the new ones as well imho.

I don't really know anything about Texas' stadium, or campus, but they're planning on expanding to 120k plus. And why are the lines so bad TS?

FWIW he didn't say they were especially bad, just that didn't used to be much of a line with the troughs.

Yes we should expand and hopefully we will within the next 3-4 years. Unfortunately we have a penny pinching short-sighted AD that drags his feet on stadium expansions.

We don't need a big expansion just bowling in the NEZ and making a nice concourse area beneath the jumbotron. Below is a pic with the old magnavox "jumbotron". We have a much nicer one now.

This is one some guy obviously made with MS paint but the idea is pretty cool to add more luxury seating which is a must when doing any expansion.

Dream:

make our big jumbotron take up the gap between the two upper decks. it woiuld be about 60 yards wide and make it abt 30 yards high

and on the other side close the gap between the upper decks but do it with bleacher seat. it would be over 100k with a boss jumbotron.

Prepare for your student parking pass to triple in cost. Parking decks tend to cost around 6-10,000 dollars per spot to build.

They are way, way ahead of you dude. There was a thread several pages long in The Rant complaining about parking fees a few days ago.

UGA has discussed and drawn up plans to wrap the 600 level (uppermost deck) around to the tall skysuites. Would put us above 100,000 seats and require East Campus Rd. to be tunneled underneath the east side of the stadium. I want to see it happen just so we can say that we're so football obsessed in GA that we tunneled a main artery of campus beneath the stadium, let alone having 100,000 seats.

Before

After

However, these plans were drawn up under Damon Evans, so I'm not sure McGarity will agree. Also, I think there are a lot more pressing issues that need to be tended to first, namely expanding Foley Field and fixing up Rutherford and Carlton Street to look nice (the two roads that run between Stegman Coliseum, Butts-Mehre building, and Foley Field/Dan McGill Tennis Complex). Also, another parking deck by the aforementioned athletic structures wouldn't hurt

The only way the the gaps could be closed in is if the sideline decks were replaced. Field won't be lowered because you wouldn't be able to the endzones from the endzone seats.

I wouldn't mind a stadium expansion but unless I'm much mistaken I don't think there is enough physical space unless some other buildings get torn down or the stadium gets a redesign.
