SC, UGA, UK, UF will always block Clemson, GT, Louisville and FSU/Miami.

they must believe it would help recruiting at these schools if they joined SEC, which go against the theory expressed right upthread Clemson's recruiting would go down.

i've always had this theory that UNC, Duke, UVA, Wake, G Tech and perhaps some other ACC schools would break away to form a new conference with some other 'prestigious' colleges.

if that happened, perhpas the programs that remain could lure some SEC teams that are tired of being alabama's whipping boy to form a new conference.

And they'd finally fulfill their long-time dream of moving East.

Why would USC oppose? They're all the way on the other side of the country!

Know how I know you don't know what you are talking about?

Expansion in today's world isn't about teams, it's about markets.

The SEC will never take Clemson, GT, Louisville, FSU/Miami not because of teams, but because we already own those markets they play in.

It's why the next SEC expansion will be a VA school and NC State most likely.

What was the hold back when last looking at expansion and Va Tech was mentioned as SEC semi-ready? Seems like there was pressure to stay in a conf with UVA? But I would like NC State and Va Tech to expand the footprint and then realign the West with Mizzou moving to the SEC West where they belong (geographically speaking). This would allow the ACC to take in ECU and Richmond(beat UVA this year. but who didnt)

lol,

Clemson was better on offesne and defense though. which is why Saban did that. you'll always be the champs of special teams. lol

that is even legal for a kicking team to receive a ball they kick, or the fact that the teams are so close on the field it is physically possible, is one of the dumbest aspects of football. lol

Wait Clemson was better on both sides of the ball so Saban won?

yes due to special teams. they got that turnover on the onside kick, and all a punt or kick return TD. difference in the game.

one of Bama's TD came on a bomb pass after the onside kick turnover. if they didn't catch the ball, Clemson has ball at midfield up 3 in the 4th quarter.

keep in mind Clemson was shredding Alabama's 'best ever defense' without Mike Williams or our fastest deep threat WR Cain.

i wouldn't be talking too much trash about Clemson, just in case they beat Bama this year.

No troll, here.

I think everyone believes Dabo will move on eventually.

Do you think Clemson can replace him with an equitable coach? That's going to be really tough to do. I think that would be the SEC's concern with Clemson. They don't expand a market and they have the potential to be Mizzou bad if Dabo ever tests the waters.

why would Dabo move on. he is paid well and has good facilities and obviousy able to recruit at Clemson. Clemson gave him the head coach job despite fact he was only WR coach. he's also said 'i like to blossom where i am at'. not exactly something a job shopper says.

Why do you think Clemson couldn't get another coach? What was Bama doing prior to Saban? Losing 7 in a row in to Auburn.

did you know Texas's new coach Herman said he wants to get Texas competitive with 'the Clemsons of the world'. not the Alabamas, the Clemsons.

Best is the standard.

Doubtful. The main goal is TV Markets, and South Carolina already has that state. North Carolina/State and Virginia/Tech are the most likely candidates if we ever expanded again, and that is highly unlikely.
