If a season opener is a trap game, it's going to be a long miserable season.

In AU's case, the team has literally been waiting 8 months to atone for the meltdown at the end of 2016, culminating in the blowout in the Sugar Bowl. I don't see them coming in flat.

Our real trap game is Ole Miss in week 6. If we've gotten by State the week before, we'll either be 4-1 or 5-0, looking forward to a shot at breaking the Cigar Curse in Red Stick and possibly overlooking an Ole Miss team who, by that time, may already know their NCAA fate and be playing with nothing to lose.

It's not so much that it's a season opener, it's more like UGA could easily look ahead to ND and Auburn could easily look ahead to Clemson.

Agreed. They still have a bunch of really good athletes and if they're playing with nothing to lose they're going to knock someone off

Without Patterson I don't think they will be the same team. If it's true that he's looking to transfer...

I always feel like the Mississippi State game, which seems to always be the week after LSU, is going to trip us up. I might choose that one.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as a trap game with CNS.

Our opener as well. GA Southern

Opening games are not trap game. Any potential upset is not a trap game.

Auburn's trap game is at Arkansas right before out bye-week.

For there to be a trap game for A&M, the expectations would have to be wildly exceeded.

In that case, the only answer is Mississippi State.

HOWEVER, the only way that becomes a trap game is if A&M is 6-1 or 7-0 at that point, which makes the point moot.

Vandy because of their defense. It's like playing a baseball team with a good pitching staff. They can get you in an ugly, low scoring shite fest and all it takes is one goofy thing to happen and it's Upset City.
