Only in football do we scream about computers.

I think it needs to be 16 teams.

All conference winners, 1 independent, and then rest at larges.

Do it just like the FBS playoffs make the conference championship worth something. Use the top 14 and NCG as the games. Start the games Christmas weekend Quarters NYE Semis the 8th and Final the 15th

Seed them by a committee and go. Can't have rematches until Semis and it allows for Bowls to be played so ESPN can keep their ownership in them.

My 14 Bowls to use
Always will host Semis and highest ranked Qtr games
Sugar
Peach
Cotton
Rose
Fiesta
Orange
Always will host First Rd/Quarter but never will host a Semi
Citrus
Holiday
Gator
Sun
Texas
Copper
Outback
Whatever they call the one in San Fran now

4 team playoff. I just wish the semi's could be at the highest ranked. Sucks fans have to fork up money for 2 "bowls".

I prefer an issue team playoff system.

So....we're halfway to where I think we should be.

There's no way that bracket would work. 6 seed has to play the 7 but the 9 gets to play the 12?

It favors the top 2 seeds. You finished with a top two record in the polls, you should have to play one of the 4 lowest teams. It's not a traditionally seeded bracket because the traditionally seeded bracket works when there is parity among leagues and tons of competition between leagues. College Football is different, so the bracket should be different.

The four team playoff adds teams but takes away from the importance of the season as well as some of the excitement. T

Maybe a bit, but I think we get so many great first week ooc matchups it makes up for the loss.

I'd like a 6-8 team playoff without conference titles.

The bcs got it right ever year except for 03 and 01. Oklahoma almost lost our sorry arse team in 03. USC was, is and will always be the best team that season. LSU was good but would have gotten, HOUSED, I mean mauled to frick by that usc team. LSU caught a HUGE break in drawing OU. They begged for the same thing to happen in 11 but the bcs said no sir. You're gonna play the legit number 2 this time.
I knew we were the best team, the voters knew it and I think LSU did too. It's why they acted like pus-ies about sorry arse ok state not getting in when they were number 3 anyway. Bama was number two the last 3 weeks and did nothing to get moved down. Don't blame the bcs, blame ok state for blowing a game that YOU KNOW bama wouldn't have lost in Iowa state. We got suckered into trying not to lose in 11. We still had to miss 5 fgs to lose. I knew we would win going away in the title game and I thought we should have won by two tds the first time. That was the worst coached Saban game in his tenure at Bama.
Nebraska getting in was a joke in 01. Miami was never threatened. The only bcs championship game I didn't watch.

This. P5 teams schedule only P5 teams. A 12-team playoff allows for good games during the season and even those great teams that have two or even three losses can still look forward to a second chance in the playoff.

Even as a UK fan I get sick of wasting my time in CWS watching the Cats play MAC teams. I'd much prefer to see them schedule IU, Duke, Kansas and other P5 programs of UK's caliber than G5 mid-major schools for OOC games.

The P5 and G5 schools need to quit playing each other and consolidate into two distinct divisions. Both should have playoffs, too.

What about 2003 when LSU got in over a USC team that was ranked #1 in both polls?

You mean when OU lost their conference title game but still made it in over USC?

You can bitch that the BCS got it wrong and I would agree, but it was OU that they got wrong.

LSU belonged there. No one was beating that LSU defense.

All we heard was LSU had NO SHOT at beating UGA a second time.

All we did was dominate them.

Then LSU had NO SHOT at stopping the OU offense. "The greatest offense in the history of college football"

All we did was make them look very average.

I like this idea the most. It takes out the human element completely. My only question would be how are the 3 at large choosen?

If you take my suggestion from above the field would have been:

Conference Winners:
Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
Michigan St
Western Kentucky
Bowling Green
San Diego St
Stanford
Arkansas St
Notre Dame

At Large:
Iowa
Ohio State
Florida St
North Carolina
TCU
Ole Miss

So just projecting Brackets, considering you cant have a rematch of regular season game in first round.

1)Clemson vs 16) Arkansas St
8) Florida State vs 9)Notre Dame

4) Oklahoma vs 13) Western Kentucky
5) Iowa vs 12) Ole Miss

2) Alabama vs 15) San Diego St
7) Ohio St vs 9) North Carolina

3) Michigan State vs 14) Bowling Green
6) Stanford 11) TCU

Any expansion to the playoff will ruin college football. If you want a meaningless regular season go watch any other sport. Teams like Ohio State would make it every year in this format.

And so would teams like Alabama. In a national championship are we trying to give everyone a chance to win it (all conferences) or just the select conferences?

I think that to make it a true national champion, you need to include all. Also, that format I had will produce some major dollars into the accounts of all programs.

I'd like it to be 12. I think that's the perfect mixture of size and length.

Okay I do not mind 12 either, but I think you have to include all conference winners and the Independent qualifier. That is why I went 16, to give more at larges. It also puts a premium on winning your conference if you go 12. There would only be 2 at larges from that pool it would have been Iowa and Ohio St last year.

If you use 12 Teams the Bowl games used would be what? Campus sites for first and second round games? Then rotate through the NY6 games and have NCG?

Yeah I like that. To be honest I think it'll end up being between 8-16 when it's all said and done and for the reasons you mentioned.

There's already been talks of two teams in the same conference not making the playoff when it could be a possibility. If it came down to it, I think the committee would not put two teams from the same conference in. Just my opinion. The champion from the Big 12, Big 10, and PAC 12 would have to have 3 losses most likely. I could only see two teams possibly getting in from the SEC or ACC but still very unlikely.
