said on television that there are a lot of openings but lsu would be "the job" if les were to leave

listening to this board, coaching in tiger stadium is a step up from cleaning toilets at an interstate rest area. is that how you all really feel, and is jesse palmer totally off in his assessment?

and do you honestly believe that lsu can do no better than les miles and middle of the pack in the secw?

Why do you care what posters on tSECRant think about it? You got your coach.

I don't think LSU is "the job" but it's probably a top 5-10 job in the nation. About the same level as UGA IMO. I think Les is a good coach who makes more head-scratching decisions than he should, but has a great recruiting ability and is very relatable to his players. His two most recent hires have been really poor, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that's on him or Alleva.

Convenient he mentions this as soon as USC is off the table.

Yes, finding a good coach is very difficult. There aren't Nick Sabans and Urban Meyers getting hired every year contrary to what tTigerRant seems to believe, even at top schools.

we found nick saban, then les miles

we also found skip bertman, then pulmonary who has bagged more hardware in his sport than les has in his

why would we all of a sudden turn incompetent and listless in a search to find someone who can adequately pilot our football program on and off the field?

I'd actually put UGA as the best job available followed closely by USC and LSU. Then a step down to several others. Really though the Top 3 are a matter of perspective and what you value, a good coach can be uber successful at any of those 3 but will always be out spent or have disadvantages against the others.

I'd take the job in Athens any day over that one, and it has nothing to do w/ which div is easier to win in right now.

Apparently Les is the right man for the job.

Name 5 jobs that would be above LSU.....
1. USC
2. Bama
3. UF (maybe)
4.?
5.?

Easily top 5

If the LSU coaching position was so desired, Les would not be at LSU right now.

Agreed that those would be the top 3.

I put USC at the top because traditionally, they are the top team in their conference. Alabama holds that claim in the SEC.

I agree. LSU is very unique in the fact that it really has no in state competition with recruiting . Saban was one who realized the possibilities at LSU. The right person at LSU is very dangerous. I like MIles but I think the offense situation has to change and I have other opinions that are only that, opinions. I think Alleva has to go at this point for MIles to have any credibility as the head coach.

I think you're delirious. You could definitely make the argument that Texas, USC, Bama, Florida, and Ohio State are better jobs. I'm not saying I agree with that, but to say it's easily top 5 is just ridiculous.
