We are going to play for a national title and play all of our games at home except for the final round.

The NBA, NHL and MLB have an issue with your premise.

It'd be better if the CWS was a true double elimination tourney.

Disagree. The format is consistent throughout. You play a four-team double elimination regional, then a best of three super regional. A loss in the regionals doesn't carry over. The CWS copies this format with two four-team brackets used to qualify teams for a best of three final.

Your premise: Titles are not legit if not competed entirely at neutral sites.

NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL are all leagues where titles are granted and all or a portion of their postseasons take place at the home venue of one of the participants. My question to you would be, do you see these as "niche" sports and their titles unworthy by your standards? My follow up would be that if you do consider it "different" for pro sports (as you seem to indicate in your childish response above), then enlighten us all as to how college championship tournaments MUST happen at 100% neutral sites to achieve validity, but once the athletes receive large contracts, the venues for postseason no longer have relevance to the credibility of the title.

I'll hang up and listen.

Sorry that Serrano was a bad hire. SEC baseball is so strong that we all need a couple of easy games during the conference season. Kudo's to the Vols, Wildcats and Bulldogs.

I know OP isn't looking for a legit answer, but here it goes anyway. The regional and super regional format is necessary for baseball where you really can't play any more than 2 games per day in any one park. Imagine if the tournament was conducted like the basketball tournament and there was 4 games to be played yesterday in Alex Box. The entire tournament would be fricked with rain and games being delayed. In basketball, they know that they can get 4 games a day in at any particular site.

I guess you could have the regionals and super regionals played at neutral sites, but the only neutral sites would be minor or major league parks where conflicts would arise.

Or you could just have an 8 team world series to be more like the college football playoff, but I like the field of 64 much better, and it tends to lead to a true champion. Unlike football, there are many smaller schools capable of making some serious noise come tournament time.

NCAA baseball has the best postseason. There's no computers or fluke wins like in March Madness, you have to beat the best teams twice.

I love NCAA baseball postseason. Fun to watch. ESPN makes a huge difference.

And you are right, no fluke wins. If the best team loses, they still have a chance to win their regional if they are the BEST team.

I love what Arkansas did, Okie State was not the best team, but they got to host because of how well they did in the Big 12, Arkansas went in there and won the regional.

Now take Missouri State, they won their regional with Oregon and Iowa in it. Gotta love NCAA baseball tourney.

Very excited about the Arkansas vs Missouri State matchup.

Teams that suck in baseball usually are the ones that hate on the sport the most. What a coincidence.
