And you could tell watching their faces as they entered SHSU enjoyed every minute of playing in Death Valley. That's an experience they will never forget.

No offense, but that's a load of horse shite. Most small time schools are there to make their million bucks, avoid injury, and get the hell outta there alive.

That college, as an educational experience, is a complete scam. Maybe at one time a college degree was worth something, but nowadays it is wasted time, money and energy.

Actually, college degrees are worth more than ever. Although I don't see how that is relevant to the comment about small school football players.

You don't think the players from SHSU, who won't see a dime of that money, relished playing in a stadium they've probably dreamed of playing in?

Ever played football at any level?

I think you are overstating the case in order to help justify your acceptance of these games.

And I know that in general, the primary motivation of these teams is to avoid injury.

It means that most of the players that are actually on athletic scholarship are too dumb to be in college. Universities lower their standards to get them in, then they "encourage" them to take bullshite classes just so they can stay eligible long enough for them to play football.

That wasn't the overarching point I was conveying, but nevertheless...

Why, especially, need they survive?

Consider for a moment how many student athletes at SHSU are getting a college education solely because of their athletic programs.

Then, consider that over the past five years Sam Houston State has received more athletic funding from FBS programs than they have from all other sources combined.

Games like this essentially allow for the continuation of ALL sports at some of these schools.

There is nothing unfair about the game. Its just not competitive.
