Do Bama fans truly appreciate the success they are having right now?

I know with LSU baseball the 96 title, while still awesome, was not quite what it had been for me as a fan in 1991 and 1993. The 97 title was legendary because of the Warren Morris walkoff homerun but if we had won that game in a rout it would be been even less exciting to me me than 96 I think. 2000 was definitely as ho hum a national title as I think I can remember even though the final was very exciting. The butterflies were definitely gone.

The 2009 title was amazing but that was after an 8 year drought, something that seemed unfathomable at the turn of the millennium. Just wondering if that has started to set in for Alabama fans yet or if 2012 was just as awesome to you as 2009.

you'd be hard pressed to find someone who disagrees with this. I don't even think Drac was comparing the two.

Every title is more delicious than the last. We haven't come close to the ultimate goal yet. A truly perfect season. 14-0, National Champions, 0 points allowed, no turnovers, no drives failing to end in a TD by the first team offense.

That will never happen, but it's nice to know that no matter what the team does they could be doing more.

Well even then the 2007 title was not quite as special as 2003, which is of course to be expected somewhat but still.

And I know baseball is no big thing to y'all but to LSU fans it is a very big deal.

They've all been equally great. Beating Texas and winning a championship for the first time in forever was awesome, then beating another SEC team for the title and crushing their dreams was great, and then beating a storied program in Notre Dame who had had our number was awesome as well. I'm sure this year will continue to be just as awesome.

That was in 96. Beat Bama for the title in 97.

I don't know if it's possible to appreciate your third national title in four years the way you did the first. It is incredible, but eventually it goes from "once in a lifetime" thrill to "wow, we did it again."

But there is one thing I've always wanted - three in a row. Nobody has ever done it, even though we've come the closest if you count the 1966 robbery after we won it in 64 and 65. To win three in a row in the BCS era would be beyond words.

But for those of us who hung in there during the Mike Dubose years, I'm sure we appreciate what's happening more than the younger folks. That shite was PAINFUL.

This. I'm trying to enjoy every second of it. It won't last forever.

Almost? Right now I'm not sure what it's going to take to derail Bama. Odds on favorite to win again next year, though replacing the OLine will be a challenge. Maybe 2014 when you're breaking in a new QB?

That said, I hope this response puts the Gris Gris on Bama and ya'll fall on your faces next year.

I was a student from '99-'03. I really was expecting a refund from the University. It was horrible. We never had a quality win at Bryant Denny my sophomore - senior year.

I am appreciating the hell out of everything that is going on. Unfortunately we have a ton of band wagon fans who just joined us in '08 or '09 and don't know what it's like to suffer and I'm not sure they appreciate the current success.

Well, the bandwagon fans always come round when you're winning. I'd rather have this problem than the kinds of problems you get when you're losing.

I always laugh at the "sidewalk fans" thing, as if it's an insult. We're supposed to apologize for being popular?
