To think one of the reasons UGA is the top job is not as much pressure on the HC to win at this point in time just isn't true.

They made the move to oust Richt and get Kirby (Saban's protege) to win and win quickly. They aren't expecting Kirby to win it all this year or maybe next but after that expectations are HIGH. After year 2 all eyes in Georgia are going to be pointed directly on CKS and they will be waiting not so patiently for him to deliver. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that.

Any of about 6 jobs in the SEC could be "the best" given the right coach. UGA has always lacked the financial commitment to be called the best job, imo. We generally perform better than we pay for (Richt was in Lower half of pay for SEC coaches I think).

Will Kirby change that? If he can win an NC or several SEC titles in a row, maybe..if not we will continue to muddle along in the middle of the top quarter of SEC teams.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't arguing that UGA isn't a top job. I don't live far from Athens and I know UGA is a outstanding job. Fertile recruiting and HUGE fan support. Everyone loves UGA. Yes there are a few Techies here and there but they aren't competition.

I'm just saying that the no pressure on the coach as one of the reasons IMO is no longer valid.

Oh yeah Kirby isn't in a pressure free job, but it really isn't "win an NC or get fired" pressure. Richt just could win the SEC for a decade and that's not acceptable. We want an NC, but we expect and demand a few SEC titles every decade. And it is clearly not unreasonable to expect that.

and that is what makes things so interesting. Because so does Bama, LSU, AU, UF, and UT at this point.

There just aren't enough titles to go around especiallly with Saban at Bama. That SOB wants them all for himself and he's pretty darn good at making that happen.

I think most, if not all, of the top 8 or ten football programs in the league feel the same way.

I'm sure SCAR fans, having had a small taste of success, most of us are demanding to be in Atlanta more regularly.

Ole Miss fans would like to make their first trip to Atlanta ... and win it of course.

Expectations of winning titles is not just a so-called "Big 6" thing.

As someone else has already stated, there is only one title to go around every year ... ten every decade, etc.

I'm not sure we'll see anything as close to what Spurrier was at Florida or Saban is at Bama anytime soon once Saban steps down ... but I honestly do not believe he's going anywhere anytime soon.

Sure. It only took them 10 years with no championships of any kind to do it.

Have you ever toured Bama's facilities? I have ... they are incredible.

I used their weight room. It's frickin nice.

I've never toured LSU's football facilities .... only their baseball facilities which are now second to none. So I assume their football facilities are on par with anyone's ... except Bama's.

LSU is doing a very needed upgrade. I still think Alabamas will be more aestheticly pleasing. TAMU also has some immaculate facilities but I have yet to see them in person.

LSU is the best SEC job.

-LA is loaded with HS talent.
-They're the only P5 program in LA.
-Local support (too many transplants in GA).
-Tradition.
