If both have the SECN

Then Directv, there is no real comparison. The picture is just better than all others.

I've had comcast and Dish. I just like Directv better, plus the also have NFL ticket (Dish?).

With the merger with ATT , I think it's going to improve options.

The only thing I would change for might be Google Fiber, it's probably the future!

Directv has proved to me over the years that there is such thing as hell, and there is such thing as Satan. Terrible service, terrible quality TV, and just overall terrible. I've never had dish, but sign me up.

Please elaborate. I have Dish now, but have thought about switching. Don't care about the NFL network. Why switch from Dish to DirectTV, if not for NFL Ticket?

I have had both. Would never go back to dish. On top of Sunday Ticket, Directv has MLB Extra Innings, the best golf major coverage (4 extra channels for all the majors), better equipment, better service.

Right now in my life, the sports packages (other than SEC Network, ESPN, etc.) don't matter to me, not NFL, MLB, etc.

Better equipment? How so? Better Service? I've not really had an issue when I call Dish other than they want to charge me shipping if my receiver dies. If I fuss, they remove that.

A bit more detail might help me. I'm not under contract now, and was about to call and fuss about pricing, get the hopper and will be locked in for 2 more years if I do that. Would consider switching if compelled to. I need to get up to 6 TVs going, as I have my father in law moving in, and he's a huge UT fan. His only requirement is the SEC network.

Genie better than hopper?

I've had both too, and liked both.

Main reason to switch is price. Play one against the other and your bill will go down, down, down.

Competition. It's not just the American worker against the third world.

DISH ... owned by good SEC people. First ones on board with the SECN. Less money per month.

DirecTV ... owned by left coasters.Tap dancing around with thSir remaining subscribers. Still no SECN. More money per month.

Follow your heart. Be loyal to DISH ... they are good Americans.

lulz ... that's just bullshite right there.

HD signals are HD signals. TVs make the difference.

I have both right now and DirecTV does not offer a better picture in the least.

This was my thinking too. The picture really can't be different between the two, can it? The difference would be your TV I would think.

I am out of contract, but need to add more receivers, or switch to like the Hopper. I will be asking directly for Dish's retention dept and fussing about switching and price and see what hey do for me.
