Translation :

They wanted 50 cents on the national footprint.
We wanted to pay 5 cents on the national footprint
Probably a week before fall kickoff we will pick them up for about 10 - 30 cents on the national footprint.

So direct tv will have to endure the following:

LSU Piss Bombs
Gumps Poisoning Trees
Gumps tea bagging
aTm jizz jars thrown at them
OM Klan rallies
Floridians going on a jort strike
Hog fans burning Direct TV on fire
Vandy will hack their satelites or just buy them outright
Gump mommas coming over cubicles attacking them

DirecTv doesn't carry Pac12 nor the Longhorn Network. It's not so difficult to believe that the DTV execs believe they can manhandle Mike Slive and the easily manipulated Southern mouth-breathers as well.

Since they survived the Pac12 and the LGHN it's easy for a misguided suit to convince himself and the board that missing out on the SECN won't amount to much at all.

DishTv is setup to win big if the ball drops like they think it will. I will be moving from DTV at home and in Tuscaloosa. My annual bill in both locations is just over $3k. I'm one customer and I will switch - now it depends on how many other customers will as well.

I just spoke to customer service at Directv and was informed that Directv will NOT carry the SEC Network.

Harvey has been given the address of DirecTV HQs. They will cave.

BBN

Mix that many people with that much liquor and "naked man running with propane tank" will seem quaint and funny.

Time Warner is a clusterfrick right now. Those people are just worried about their jobs during the merger. The SEC Network is not a priority for TWC right now and they aren't going to lock in any long term multi-million deal with ESPN that might jeopardize their Comcast merger.

Comcast is going to decide what that deal with the SEC Network is going to look like, since they are buying TWC. That merger will not be finalized until after the SEC Network launch in August, and may take up until next year or longer if another provider pushes for anti-trust review.

Anyone with TWC needs to know that they will need 30 days notice to get out of TWC agreements, there may be an early cancellation fee, but I'm 99% sure that TWC will not be carrying the SEC Network by the 1st games this season.

Does DirectTV carry the Big10 or Pac-12 Network?

I have Comcast. We get the Big10 Network but not the Pac-12. I don't really care about either one of them. I am sure Comcast will carry the SEC Network......but if they don't, I will be taking my money elsewhere.

Comcast will eventually carry it, I'm sure, but it's a timing issue right now. There's a $45 Billion merger on the table, and this SEC Network is just a a $1.30 per subscriber piece of that pie.

There will be about 30 million subscribers in the merged Time Warner-Comcast network.

SEC Network wants $1.30 per month, per subscriber.

So the 30 million Comcast customers could pay $15.60 each a year, and have a total worth $468 million for the SEC Network. Most likely Comcast will talk ESPN down from that $1.30 number and they'll have some ability to do that since they have so many subscribers.

This isn't new, they've been saying that all along. They won't have a choice but to give in eventually. Just give it time and be patient and persistent with requesting it.

I like dish better since I switched two years ago. Cheaper, always got premium channels on discount, when people mention I told them to switch, they get 50 and I get 50 off my next bill and 5 off each month for 10 months, a total of 100 bucks off. Has NFL redzone...who really wants the direct ticket. Can't watch 5 games at once anyhow.

I'm switching to Charter tomorrow - I'm sick and tired of Knology/WOW and their crap. Of course Charter has to run new lines, trench through my damn yard, etc. to get a new line to the house.
